3. In a sea of stars

The sun was up, the morning fresh when Jae sat up in bed looking on the other side of the mattress were Renjun was curled up under the duvet cuddling to Dalli like he had used to when he was little. Sometimes Jae had this strong illusion all parents liked to have, to picture his baby always staying that tiny and helpless, but form the other hand he was enjoying all the challenges their growing up son was giving them. Right now Renjun was a lovely teen, he had great notes at school always listened to them nicely, he never gave them any reason to be too worried.

Jae looked at the clock on the bedside table, it was past 9 a.m., but he decided to take Junie with him for his short trip on Bali for his video shoot he just needed to call the school, let them know his boy will miss a few days. He could leave Renjun with Sicheng but he already missed Taeyong so much, besides he had this strong feeling Renjun needed him more than ever.

"Sleep as long as you like my love," whispered Jae leaning over the boy kissing his cheek. He smiled to himself getting up, taking the phone then walking out of the bedroom closing the door behind him carefully. Something caressed his leg and he looked on the floor to spot Ti. She was definitely looking for Renjun, as they were like best friends.

"He's sleeping," whispered Jae pressing Taeyong's contact one the phone then taking the cat up on his arms caressing it.

Ti gave out a sweet purr cuddling to his chest.

"Hi," Taeyong's voice gave him goosebumps when he stopped in a smaller study room then sat down on an armchair playing with Ti's fur.

"Hi, I've missed you," whispered Jae.

"I'm missing you like crazy but I need to stay a few more days, what are you doing?" asked Taeyong.

Hearing Taeyong's voice was always giving him warmth, even after so many years.

"I've just got up, I'm in the uppef study, the mofning is lovely, the sun is fising above the fofest. Junie's sleeping I'm cuddling Ti."

"Oh stop or I'll bite some walls," begged Taeyong laughing. "Do you want to listen to the demo?" he changed the subject.

"Yes," Jae grinned.

"I'm sending it over," muttered Taeyong. "How's Junie doing?"

"I don't know he was so sad last night, safted to cfy," whispered Jae.

"Oh," Taeyong sighed.

"Asked me if he can sleep with me so I agfeed, he's vefy tofn lately I don't know what's up," Jae felt something cold filling his insides.

"Puberty starts to hit him it's a depressive age we need to be there for him," muttered Taeyong.

"I know I just, I bfeaks my heaft to see him cfy," Jae glanced at the cat that fell asleep on his lap.

"I'll be back soon we'll figure it out like always," muttered Taeyong.

"I know," Jae felt some sparks inside him. "I'm taking him to my video shooting on Bali today."

"Really that's a great idea, he will get some sun he will think about other things."

"I hope," Jae looked over the garden to the forest.

"I need to get some sleep call me once you land and tell me how do you like the track," said Taeyong.

"Sufe," Jae felt Taeyong's tiredness in his voice.

"So talk to you later, love you my little Jae," whispered Taeyong.

"Love you too," Jae felt some butterflies, oh why was his man so far away.
