Intentions

We are good people despite what the world says. Jungkook helps me to break my boundaries and show me the reality of things. He has stirred emotions in my soul that no else has ever been able to.

It is my duty and destiny to save Jungkook.

I feel lonely without Taehyung and Jimin on my side but they had a bigger chance of surviving than Jungkook did. They are immortal meanwhile Jungkook is fated to die in days.

I also need to get over the fact Jungkook rejected me. I can't let my heartbreak blind my priorities.

I decided what my task is the first second I leave school. I had to arrive to Jungkook's house and try to convince him to get out of the engagement.

After I'm out of my last class, I skateboarded straight to Jungkook's mansion. I notice that the security has vastly increased since the last time I've been here.

I press a button on Jungkook's gate. There were two guards visible behind a screen window.

"Excuse me Ma'am do you have an appointment to meet with a Jeon?" One of the guards ask.

I purse my lips. "No, but Jeon Jungkook is my friend. I need to speak with him."

"What's your name?" The other questioned, like he was interrogating me.

"Y/n," I reply.

They check the computer and shake their heads. "You aren't on the schedule today. Please call and make an appointment with Mr. Jeon. Then, you may be allowed in."

"I would make an appointment if I could. He isn't attending my calls!" I exclaimed.

The guard sighed. "Sorry he's unavailable. The Jeon family is busy preparing for the engagement party. Come back another time." They shut the screen window and refused to further speak with me.

I ruffle my hair and sigh. I'm really trying but I'm getting no result. If only Taehyung and Jimin could assist me...

I call Taehyung like I do every day and he doesn't pick up.

Frustrated, I decide to go to Chung's cafe to do some homework and think. I should reward myself for at least trying my best to contact Jungkook.

"One caramel latte," I tell Mrs. Chung.

"You sound quite defeated. Are you okay?" She asks, behind the counter.

"I'm fine. Just calculus and boys," I admitted.

"Boys are definitely a headache," she chuckles and hands my drink.

I'm sitting there alone at a table, sipping my caramel latte, when someone interrupts me.

"Y/n?" A deep voice says from a few away from me.

"Chao?" From a few feet away, I immediately recognize the gang leader with dark shabby hair and pale skin. He looks a lot healthier than when I saved him Saturday.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" He gestures to the table with his tatted arm.

I was a bit intimidated by the group of muscular boys surrounding him. "Uhh, I don't know there's enough room..."

Chao smiles, understanding my uncomfortable position. "Hey guys, you mind sitting at that table? I'll sit with Y/n."

"Sure, boss!" The boys call out and walk away. Chao sits on the chair across from me.

"You seem a bit down.  Are you fine?" He wonders.

I shake my head. "No. I'm really not."

I feel like I can be a bit honest with Chao, especially since we were in a life-or-death scenario. We might have only known each for five days, but we were more intimate than strangers.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

I nod and blurt everything I've been feeling. "I know you hate Jungkook and his gang has done really terrible things to you, but I need to speak to him as soon as possible. But he's completely shut me out and I don't know how to approach him!"

Chao sighs. "Look, your obsession is cute but he's engaged to someone else. Maybe it's time to let him go-"

   "No! I don't care if he's engaged," I admit.

Cho looks at me weirdly. I take a deep breath.

"It's beyond that. I don't care if he rejects my feelings. I don't care if he dates a million girls and won't date me. I just need to speak to him, because I care for him. Not as a girlfriend. But as his friend. I care for his mental health, not his relationship status," I explain.

"If you won't let him go... I think I might have a way for you to speak to Jungkook." Chao looks around.

My eyes light up immediately. "How?"

He bends down closer and gestures for me to do the same. Our heads are really close and his breath tickles my nape. "You're going to have to be my date."

   "Huh?" I pull back.

Chao explains. "I have an invitation to the Jeon engagement party."

"No way... But Namjoon's gang tried to kill you! Why would they want you at their party?" I yell out.

Chao places his pointer finger in front of his mouth. "Shh. Yeah they want me dead, but our families do business with each other, so his family had to formally invite mine."

I cross my arms. "So weird. On the outside, your families pretend to be friends. But internally, you desire to kill each other."

"Welcome to politics, my dear," he chuckles.

I shiver. "So I'm gonna have to be your date to the engagement. There's no other way?"

"Well unless if you have a ticket to the party..."

   "I don't," I frown.

"Then I'll pick you up on 3 at Friday," he grins.

"3? The party will start that early?"

He laughs. "No. I have to prepare you before the party starts."

"What? Prepare me?" I point to myself.

Chao picks up my phone from the table without asking, then adds himself as a contact and texts himself. He hands me my phone back.

"See you then!" Chao waves and walks away. The group of boys at the table behind us immediately follow their boss.

What just happened? I was happy I finally had a chance to see Jungkook but I still had a few lingering questions to ask the mafia leader.

What does Chao mean by preparing me? Why exactly would he and his gang enter and leave a coffee shop without ordering anything?

What is this boy planning and what are his hidden intentions?
