3rd person POV

The air was filled with a certain stillness. It was almost possible for one to hear the contact the snow made with the ground.

The masses who had gathered to pay their respects all wore the same solemn, heartbroken expression.

The look on Julius' face was partly the reason for this.

To most he was their King; to some he was their Alpha ; and to have to watch him go through such a terrible tragedy was painstakingly devastating.

He would not cry in front of his people; that was one thing he would never allow himself to do.

Only the family and close friends of the Alpha King were allowed within 10 metres of the actual service.

Julius stood on his own, in a position that almost isolated him from his loved ones. He  watched with a blank expression as the coffin was lowered into the ground.

The service ended with Julius addressing the people, thanking them for coming before returning to his palace, alone.

"I know you need your privacy right now but I'm dying to come and see you. Could we come by this evening?"

"Alina.."Julius trailed off, unsure of what to say . He felt awful shutting everyone out. This was the first time in 3 weeks that he'd seen his sister.

"Please Julius. We can't let this overcome us. We need to get though this, as a family."

He sighed heavily." okay. Fine. Just give me a few hours before you all show up."

"Okay." She smiled slightly, kissing him on the cheek before returning to the pack house.

The drive from the pack grounds to the palace was shorter than expected. Forgetting the snow ,Julius had driven at an incredible speed, covering the distance in just under 15 minutes.

He jumped out of his car the minute he switched the engine off and made his way into his home.

"Good afternoon your highness," a maid greeted Julius, taking his coat.

"Afternoon Anna."

Julius had taken the liberty of learning all the names of the people that took care of his household. He was still getting used to being waited on.

"The Doctor is upstairs in your quarters your highness. She's waiting for you."

"Thank you."

He rushed up the stairs to his wing of the Palace. Standing in front of the door to his bedroom, he took a deep breath and slowly opened the door.

"

"Good afternoon your highness." Doctor Moore greeted.

The sound of running water could be heard from the en-suite.

"Hi Doctor Moore. What's going on?"

"I just came to run some vitals on the Prince and see how everyone is doing."

Julius stared at his beautiful son, as he slept peacefully in the arms of the Palace nurse.

"I think it's best we take this conversation to your study." Doctor Moore suggested smiling slightly.

She lead the way out of the room, urging the King to come with her.

"Well?" Julius asked, eager to here her verdict.

"The baby is completely healthy. All the health scares we had at the beginning are no longer a threat."

Julius smiled at the news, relieved that his child was illness free.
