I met his worried gaze. "You've been acting a little off all night and you've been avoiding me when I ask you about it. You ready to talk?" I nodded. "Yeah, I need to tell you something." He held his hand out. "So tell me. Whatever it is brother, you know I got you." I shuffled my feet and started spinning my rings on my fingers. "Colby, what is it brother? You're actually starting to worry me. What's wrong?" He asked, putting his hand on my shoulder. I shook my head and grinned. "Nothing's wrong man. I just..." I took a deep breath. "I asked Y/N to marry me." His head went back a couple of inches and his blue eyes got wide. He didn't speak for a minute, just stared at me. "Sam, if your eyebrows go any higher, they're gonna disappear into your hair. Say something brother!" I exclaimed. "Um Wow." He managed to utter out. "UGH, you are killing me. Do you know how hard that was for me to tell you? Say something useful!" I groaned. He blinked at me a couple of times. "Ookaay...are you ready for that?" I bit my lip and nodded. "I am. I don't think I've ever been more ready. I mean, we're just engaged for now. We haven't discussed a date yet." Sam nodded and looked down. "Do you think I'm  messing up or something?" I asked. His silence was killing me. I needed Sam's support for this. "Not exactly." He replied looking back up at me. "I just want you to be sure. We're still so young Colby. How can you be sure that Y/N is the one that you want to spend the rest of your life with? That's a long time." I just looked at him. "Seriously, Bro? Do you know that Kat is the one that you want to spend the rest of your life with?" "Well Yeah, but we aren't talking marriage yet. She has her dreams and I have mine. We don't want to have to choose between them, if it comes down to that." I rolled my eyes at him. "Brother, that's a load of sh*t and you know it. You and Kat are going to do whatever is necessary to make both of your dreams come true, and still stay together. You guys will make it work because you want to be together....and I want to be with Y/N." He chewed his bottom lip and looked thoughtful, then shrugged nonchalantly. "Okay, I'm happy for you." I was stunned. It was that easy after what he just said? "What?" I replied. He laughed at me. "I'm happy for you brother. Beyond happy. I know that she makes you happy and that's all that really matters if you're sure that this is what you want. I just want what's best for you bro...and she's what's best for you. I've seen the change that has come over you since she came into your life. You're just...happy. Which is really killing your emo vibe by the way." I smiled. "So was it spur of the moment or what? Do we need to go pick out a ring?" My smile faded. "Um...I already got the ring. I have been planning it for a little while now and I asked her 2 weeks ago..." I trailed off, watching his mouth fall open a little. "Actually?" He asked, looking stunned. I nodded. "Yeeeahhh...sorry. I wanted to tell you but I was kind of nervous about how you react because I know you don't really believe in the whole marrying young thing. I don't know man...This whole thing has me off balance." "You said you asked her 2 weeks ago?" He asked, raising his eyebrows. I nodded. "So that's why you've been stuck in your apartment, driving me crazy I might add, for the past 2 weeks! Ha! It makes sense now." He started laughing. I chuckled a little with him. "You're really okay with this?" I asked him, a little surprised. "Yeah bro! I mean, I wish you would have told me sooner or included me in helping you find a ring or something but I understand." He froze for a second. "Wait, are you guys gonna move?" I shook my head. "Nuuuuooooo" I said, using the weird language that I usually reserved for Brennen. "Why would we move? I don't even know when we're getting married yet." He nodded once. "Okay cool. We just need to be close...you know, for like, the YouTube channel and stuff." His face turned a little red. I smiled, one side of my mouth turning up. I threw my arm around his shoulders. "Yeah bro, I love you too." I made a kissy face towards his cheek, and he shoved me off of him. I laughed. "Y/N said that me and you come in a package deal anyways that she fully expects to live next door to you and Kat for the rest of our lives." "Sounds about right," Sam replied laughing. "Are you telling the rest of the guys tonight?" I cleared my throat. "Yeah...I guess. F***ck! Why is this so hard?" Sam met my gaze. "It shouldn't be. They'll support whatever you want to do Colby. You should know that. They might rag on you, or talk a little sh*t but we've all got your back." I let out a deep breath. "You're right. I just have to grow some balls and tell them." I took a step towards the bathroom door. "Let's go." We walked out the door and over to our table where Jake was kicked back with his feet propped in one of the chairs. He nodded his head at us as we walked up. "What's up brothers?" I nodded back. "Where's Brennen and Corey?" I asked, looking around. "Over there." He motioned towards some arcade game in the corner, where Corey was playing and Brennen was cheering him on.  I sat down at the table and picked up my drink, taking a long sip. Sam sat across my me. "You want me to get them over here?" He asked. I shook my head. "Nah, they'll be back soon enough." "What's going on?" Jake asked, throwing his feet down to the floor. "Our little Colby has an announcement." Sam said, smirking at me. "Shut up Sam." I said, kicking him under the table.
