She laughed. "Damn, yeah it's him. This dumb ass bitch wants me to come over to his place tonight for him to show me how a real man dominates him woman...how thick can you get? Ugh, I'm disgusted with myself." I laughed. "It's the performance of a lifetime Kristie. You got this." She huffed into the phone. "I know I do...It's just nasty, ugh." I could actually see her squirming in my mind. "Okay so, he said that he wants me there at 9 tonight. Oh my God..." "What?," I asked. She groaned. "He said to wear no underwear and very slutty clothes. Said since I wanted to act like one, then he was going to treat me like one....Okay, I'm kicking his ass." "Yuck...he is so foul." I replied, making a face. Colby was silently laughing the entire time, listening to my one sided conversation. "You sure you're gonna be okay doing this?" She smacked her teeth and laughed a little. "Don't worry about me babe! Haven't you learned by now that I can take care of myself." "Yeah, most definitely," I replied, laughing. "But I'm still gonna worry. Anything could go wrong and you're one of my best friends." "I'm good. I promise. Plus Chris and that manly hunk of yours are going to be right outside if I need them. I don't think I will. I can take Randy down by myself, but we'll see." I rolled my eyes. "Okay, so we need to be set up over there by 9. Chris is going to work with Colby before that and go buy a body cam for you to wear. I'm going to sit outside, in the car, where I won't be able to see ANYTHING...and it's going to drive me crazy." Kristie laughed. "Calm your pregnant ass down. You can be in the middle of the drama again when you aren't carrying a passenger anymore...actually no, not even then. You can't risk getting hurt when you have a kid. You're just going to have to get used to being a boring old Mom." "Never." I cried into the phone, a smile on my face. She laughed, the sound echoing through the phone so that Colby could hear. He just shook his head smiling. "Okay, I'm gonna let you go so that you can finish talking to your lover boy." "Bitch...NO." This whole conversation is ending with us laughing at each other. "See you tonight." We disconnected and I looked over at Colby. "I'm guessing that she's got him right where she wants him." He said, eyebrows raised. I nodded. "Yep. She's going over there tonight. 9 pm." He shook his head in astonishment. "She works quick, I'll give her that...guess I better see if Chris is ready to go." I was so nervous about this whole thing. My anxiety had my nerves jumping the entire day, waiting for it to be time. Colby left to go pick up Chris and do what they needed to do. I hung out with Mom, watching a little TV and just spending more time together but I couldn't concentrate. My mind kept wandering, thinking about tonight and everything that could go wrong. I couldn't help it. It's just part of who I am to worry about this crap. Who wouldn't though? This was a serious situation and so many things could go wrong. I was scared for them. All of them. I honestly kind of wished that I didn't have to sit in the damn car and wait for them to come back to me. That was going to drive me crazy. Maybe I could see if Colby was okay with me standing outside with them. I would stay away from any confrontation. Yeah, that's what I was going to do. There's no way that I would be able to just sit in the car, waiting on them to show up. What if something did go wrong, and I was just sitting there, still waiting, not knowing what was going on? That wasn't the best plan to have...I needed to be there. "Are you okay baby?" My mom asked me. I jerked my head up to look at her, breaking out of my thoughts. "Yes ma'am. Why?" She narrowed her eyes at me. "Because you're going to bounce yourself off my bed, if you don't calm that foot down." She motioned towards my foot, that was anxiously jumping on the bed. I stopped it. "Sorry. Just have a lot on my mind." Her expression turned soft. "Does it have anything to do with Randy?" I bit my lip, and lowered my brows. "Why would you say that?" I asked. She scoffed. "Honey, I hear a lot more that y'all think I do. The walls are pretty thin and I've been listening to whispered conversations ever since you were a teenager." My mouth dropped open and my eyes widened. "Mom!" She shrugged. "What? I had to make sure that you weren't going to get into too much trouble, now didn't I? It's my job." I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Yea, it has to do with Randy. Colby, Kristie, and Chris have a plan for tonight. Something that will hopefully put his reign in this town to rest. Maybe even make him leave town." She chewed her lip, watching my face. "Is it dangerous?" I met her worried gaze, trying to figure out the best way to tell her this. I guess I should just be truthful. "It might be...if things don't go the way they are supposed to." "Are you going to be safe?" She put her and over mine. "Yes ma'am. Colby won't let me anywhere near the danger." There was no point in telling her that I was placing myself just a little bit closer to it. She nodded. "Good. He's a good boy. I'm not worried then. He can handle himself, Kristie definitely can, and he'll keep you safe. Just don't do anything stupid!" She pointed her finger at me, glaring sternly. I held both hands up. "I'm not Momma. I wouldn't put my baby in danger." "Okay then. Let's try to watch some TV then, and take your mind off of it for a little while." I smiled and leaned over to kiss her cheek.
