The trip to the store didn't take long. Maybe 10 minutes, but I took the time to blast my music and enjoy the ride. Sometimes, I forget the ac and let my windows down, enjoying the wind blowing through my hair, while the music plays. I did that now, thinking of y/n and of just how damn cute she was when she blushed. I'd do just about anything for that girl. I pulled up at the store and parked next to a run down pick up truck. Yep, we're still in Kansas, I thought, laughing to myself. Going inside the store, I went directly to the chip aisle and started looking for the salt and vinegar ones. Grabbing two small bags just to be sure that she had enough, I stopped by the candy aisle and grabbed her a couple of chocolate bars while I was at it. If she was craving things, it wouldn't be long before chocolate was one of those things. I shook my head, smiling to myself at how she needed chocolate every month. I wonder if every girl is like that, or just her. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, and turned the corner knocking into someone. "Oh sorry. Excuse me." I said quickly, leaning down to pick up what they had dropped. "Colby, what's up man? You coming to the party tonight?" Standing straight, forgetting about whatever he had dropped, I looked Jackson in the face. "Hey bro...no, I don't think so. I pissed Johnny off good. Not sure that I should." Jackson started laughing and shrugged. "He seemed okay after you left. Laughed about it and talked about how y/n was a little spitfire. I don't think he's upset. He was just bustin' your balls a bit." I shifted all of the stuff into one arm, and ran my hand through my hair. "I don't know man. S'not a good idea." He clapped his hand on my shoulder. "Come on man. Just stop by for a little while. We won't let anything happen." I scoffed at him. "Yeah, cuz you guys really helped the other night." He rolled his eyes. "We would've had you're back if anything had actually went down. You know none of us can actually stand Johnny. We just put up with him. We aren't kids anymore Colby." I really did miss the guys and I didn't really get to hang out with them the other night. I sighed. "Okay bro, but I'll be avoiding Johnny. He pisses me off to bad when it comes to y/n and I'm going to hurt him." Jackson chuckled. "Damn, you got it bad son." I nodded, smiling. "Yeah, I guess I do...Alright man, what time should we roll through?" "Anytime after 9. You know we always out late. It's at the barn, by the way." I rolled my eyes. "That barn is going to collapse on all of us one day." Jackson laughed again and clasped my hand. "No doubt." "See ya man. Gotta get this back to the house." I walked up to the front to pay, listening to him laugh and sing "You got it, you got it bad." "Oh, shut the f*ck up," I muttered, smiling to myself. I knew I had it bad, there was no point in arguing about it, and I knew they were going to give me crap. It's just what we did. I remembered telling them that I wouldn't fall for another girl, the way I did Tessa. I wasn't lying. What I had with y/n was entirely different. Tessa was just a stage in my life. Yea, I loved her, but not in the way that I love y/n. I paid and went back to my car, listening to a sappy love song that I would never admit too, on the way home. I was excited to see her face when I gave her the chocolate that she didn't ask for. I know it's stupid, but I loved to see her face light up, and her eyes sparkle. If she smiled, I smiled. "She's making me soft." I muttered, still grinning like an idiot as I pulled up in the driveway. As I walked in the front door with my bag, Mom was sitting on the couch. "Hey baby." "Hey Ma. I'm gonna take this to Y/n." I headed past her, but she stopped me. "She left with Tessa a little while ago." I turned back to her slowly, knowing that I misheard. There's no way that she left with Tessa. Mom nodded at me, still smiling. "Yeah, Tessa said that she was feeling sick and wanted her to take her to town to get some medicine for it. She said she tried to reach you but you weren't picking up." She pointed towards the back hallway. "They went out the back, cuz Tessa said it was closer to her car." I got a knot in my stomach and I felt nauseous. Something wasn't right. I pulled out my phone to see if I had missed any calls. I hadn't. My hands were shaking as I dialed y/n's number. "You okay baby?" I held my finger up to her as voicemail picked up. "Damn it." "Colby..." My mom scolded me. "Sorry, it's just they didn't call me and now y/n is picking up. She doesn't get along with Tessa and something just feels off." My mom waved her hand at me. "Oh I'm sure she's fine. Tessa is a sweet girl." I pursed my lips. "No, she's really not Mom. Not anymore. I have to go. I have to find y/n." I ran back out the door, the bag still in my arms. When I got to my car, I threw the bag in the back and sped down the road. I didn't know where I was going. I tried to call y/n again but voicemail picked up. I texted her, then tried to call Tessa. Again, voicemail. I slammed my hand against the steering. "F*CK!" I didn't know what was going on and the dread that I felt in the pit of my stomach was gnawing at my insides. I went straight to Dylans on instinct, ringing his doorbell vigorously. He opened, looking bewildered. "Colby, what the hell man? Bro, you okay?" I shook my head nervously, peering around him. "Look man, is Tessa here? Or y/n? Have you seen y/n?" He shook his head, his eyes widening. "What's going on brother?" I ran both hands through my hair, pulling on it in frustration.
