Colby smirked at him. "What? The little girl was right about you?" He motioned his head towards Kristie and she bristled, but I shook my head. He was just trying to antagonize Randy, not trying to be offensive towards her. "Can't handle your own battles huh? You have to put everyone in jail, or get your buddies to help, because you're scare that you can't handle a one on one fight?" Colby laughed, a dark, angry, rumbling sound that sent shivers down my spine. I saw Randy's fists tighten again. "I can handle you on my own. I don't need them. You're a little bitch who thinks he's the shit because he's from a big city."  Colby smiled, but it was more of a baring his teeth than anything, the corners of his mouth slightly turned up. Kind of scary actually. He held up his hand and moved his fingers in a "bring it" motion. "Alright boys, take it somewhere else. NOW." The biggest bouncer stepped forward because he sensed the fight about to start again. Colby shrugged at Randy, still smiling. "Guess I'll see you around. I'll be in town for a little while." "Bet on it." Randy sneered. I pulled Colby towards the car by the back of his shirt because he wouldn't turn around until we were close. He unlocked the car and snatched the door open, his anger still raging. I sat down in the car, not really knowing what to say. When he sat down, he slammed his palms against the steering wheel hard, several times. "Colby calm down. It's over...and this is a rental." I reminded him. He glanced my way and rolled his eyes. "You would think about that after what just happened. Actually," He turned towards me. "Don't you ever put yourself in harms way like that again." He spoke carefully enunciating his words. "I do not thing that I will be able to stop myself from murdering someone if you get hurt or our baby gets hurt...so don't do that, okay?" He made it sound like a question, but from the look in his eyes, I was pretty sure that it was an order....and I was okay with that. I nodded slowly, keeping my eyes locked on his while I reached for his hand that was clenched on the back of the seat. He took my hand and pressed it to his lips, sighing heavily after he did. His beautiful face looked a little beat up, so I flipped on the overhead light to see better. There was a shadow of a bruise forming around the corner of his left eye, and his lip was a little swollen and bleeding from a small cut on his top lip. I grabbed a napkin out of my purse...yes, I literally have everything in my purse...and pressed it gently to his lip. He hissed from the sharp sting that it caused, and closed his eyes for a second. "Sorry," I said softly, bringing my other hand up to cup his cheek while I dabbed at the blood. "We shouldn't have came out tonight. I told you that something like this was going to happen." His eyes popped open, burning into my own so hard, that I almost flinched away from him. "That's bullshit. You shouldn't have to be scared to have fun just because of some dick who thinks he owns the town. I won't have you hiding again. I'll go back to jail if I have too, but you will get your freedom in this town." I pursed my lips, thinking over what he said. I haven't felt the need to hide in a long time...I didn't like it. Not one bit. It brought back too many old memories, too many feelings, bringing out the worst in me, and the scared little girl that I didn't want to be again. "But what if he presses charges against you? Like assault or something?" I asked, worried more about him than me having to stay out of sight. He shrugged harshly. "So? Not like I haven't been locked up before. I know how to take care of myself. I don't want to go back, but I will if I have too. There were a lot of witnesses tonight though. There's no way that all of them will side with him. There's gotta be more people that hate him than like him." Okay, he probably had a point. "But what if he threatens them with something. He's had a hold on this town for so long. I don't know if we can just come in and break that hold. A lot of the towns people think he's a good guy. They don't know about the things that he's done." I brought my hand down from his face, looking at my lap. "They think that I'm just some slut that ran out on her husband. No one ever knew what him and Nick were doing to me, how they were treating me. No one except my Mom, Serena, Kristie, and Chris. That's it. No one else would believe it because they put on such a good act for the public eye." He bit his bottom lip, digging his teeth into the soft skin there, dragging his hand through his hair, before pulling on the sweaty locks, and letting out a breath. "I don't know how it can be done...but it can be done. I've got a lot of money and that usually makes people talk and change their minds. Kristie said she had evidence of him abusing another girl. Nick has already been busted so people have to believe you now, at least the smart ones. I'll figure it out. Don't worry." Yeah, Nick was in prison for attempted murder on Sam but that didn't mean that they believed me. "Mom said that most people around here think that I ran off on him with some other guy, he went into a jealous rage when he found me with that guy in LA and tried to kill him. They still blame me, saying that I should have stayed with my husband. This small town is outdated Colby. They stick together with their own, and I was never part of the crowd." He put his hand on my chin, pulling my face back up to meet his eyes. "Stop worrying. It's bad for the baby. I'll figure it out. I promise."
