"The barn," He said softly without opening his eyes. "The barn," Tessa replied, her expression gleeful. "What the f*ck does that mean?" I blurted out, tired of watching this exchange between them. Colby's eyes popped open at my vulgar language. He looked at me, and put his finger to his lips. "Sshhh! Maybe speak quieter with the language?" He begged me. I rolled my eyes, but I lowered my voice. I really didn't want to disrespect his parents in any way. "Sorry," I mumbled, "But what's supposed to happen with this barn?" Tessa got all excited and sat down on the floor, in the space in between Colby and I. "Well, when we were young and stupid," She glanced at Colby smiling. "We made a pact. Our friend group. Where's Sam, by the way?" Colby raised his eyebrows. "He stayed in LA. Had something to do with his girlfriend." She shook her head. "Nope. I'm going to call him. He needs to be here for this. We all promised." She pulled out her phone and I spoke up. "Can someone please tell me what's going on?" I asked calmly, with a smile on my face. Colby must have known how forced it was because when he looked at me, he tried to hid his smile by coughing into his hand. "Yeah, I'm sorry baby. When we were 17, our entire friend group...like 7 people, I think, agreed that the first one married, had to strip naked on the top of the barn, run outside and jump in the freezing cold creek, while everyone watched." I shifted uncomfortable in my seat. "I'm not sure I'm okay with that." I said, meeting his gaze. His eyes were soft and understanding, the intenseness of his gaze taking my breath like it always does. "I'll wear my boxers." "No!" Tessa exclaimed. "That wasn't the deal. We said we would get naked and do it. We all agreed and you know the others are going to pester you too." Colby grimaced and shook his head. "We were stupid kids. Why do I have to be completely naked?" She smiled at him, with a wicked glint in her eyes. "Because we promised." She threw her hands up, and let them come back down smacking her tight, jean clad thighs. "That's it. You can't change it." Colby started to get a little heated. "I can if it bothers y/n. Do you want me to wear my boxers? Because I will." I didn't want to make him break a pack that he has had with his friends for so long. I didn't want them not to like me before they even met me. I shook my head. "No...it's fine...just maybe..." I met his gaze again, begging him with my eyes. "Stay covered up?" I didn't want Tessa seeing...everything. Although, I know that she already has, she hasn't seen my Colby. Grown up Colby. I don't like the idea that she'll get the chance. Colby gave me that big, beautiful smile and nodded. He put his hand down over his privates and held up 3 fingers with his other hand. "Scouts honor. I will keep it covered." I giggled at his goofiness. "Okay, I guess I'm okay with it then." "Yeeessss." Tessa hissed, smiling over at Colby, then me. "I know it sounds stupid but it was a pact made by all of us when we were younger." She shrugged her shoulders. "Before any of us get married, we have to take the leap, so to speak." I nodded my head slowly. Her face was lit up by a pretty smile and she didn't seem to be acting weird towards me or Colby anymore. Maybe I misjudged her. I smiled back at her and then winked at Colby. "I actually can't wait to see it." I replied. He smirked at me and patted the bed next to him. "Come sit next to me." I stood up and went to the bed, but I felt him grab my arm, pulling me to him. I stood in between his legs, looking down at him. The blue streaks in his hair stood out even more in his blue childhood room. I took my hand and brushed his hair back from his face. A slow, sweet smile crossed his lips and he pulled my arm, bringing me down to him. His hand went up to the back of my neck, squeezing gently, as he kissed the corners of my mouth, before tracing my bottom lip with his tongue. "I love you." He said, staring into my soul again. How could I ever doubt him? "I love you." I replied softly. I heard Tessa stand up behind us. "Okay, you guys are making me nauseous so I think I'm gonna go." Colby laughed, and I turned towards her smiling. She still had a pleasant smile on her face looking at us. "It was really nice to meet you y/n. I'm glad Colby has you. He seems happy." He pulled me down on to his lap, and smacked my thigh. "I am happy." He replied, still looking into my eyes. I smiled and kissed him softly. "Me too." I whispered. "Yep, time for me to go. Can't handle all of this sappy shit." Tessa said, her voice holding back a chuckle. I stood up so that Colby could tell her goodbye. I might not like the idea of her arms being around him but I couldn't flip out over a simple hug. He walked over to her and wrapped her in a bear hug, her arms going around his neck. I looked away after a minute because it was actually driving me crazy. I don't know why. I have seen Colby hug endless girls. Our friends, his fans...soooo many fans. He even kisses them on the cheek, or allows them to kiss his cheek. That doesn't bother me. I think it's because she has history with him. Because she used to mean something to him. Hell, she still does. Maybe not in the same way, but she does. He steps back from her and her arms move down to his forearms. "I'll see you soon, huh?" She asked with a smile. He nods. "Yeah, of course. I'll text you."
