Chapter 25

Jake yelled into the woods in a more calm manner. "Okay guys, that's enough. You scared us." None of us said anything and I didn't hear any movement from the others. Jake looked back at Corey. "What should we do? Should we go look for them?" Corey shook his head. "I don't know bro. I don't know what to do! We'll probably get lost if we walk into the woods. The flashlights barely help so we wouldn't be able to see much. DEVYYYNNN! SAM, I SWEAR TO GOD!" All of  a sudden, a man's deep voice that I didn't recognize started chanting "Come to me. Come see. Come to me. Come see." I gasped, and grabbed onto Colby, ready to run, but he held me tight. He leaned down to my ear, whispering "It's just a recording." I let out a deep sigh of relief. My heart was racing and my adrenaline was going full force. I was going to kill them both. "Why wouldn't you warn me about that?!" I whispered. He shrugged, smiling a little. "I forgot." I punched him in the arm and went back to watching Jake and Corey. "STOP!" They were backing up away from the woods. "I Know it's you guys playing a prank, STOP IT RIGHT NOW! I'm NOT JOKING!" Corey yelled. "This isn't cool guys. Come on!" Jake was trying to stay calm but the terror of the situation was getting to him. "Corey, what do we do?" Corey was getting pissed. "We F**KING LEAVE THEM is what we do! Come on let's grab the stuff and go." He turned back to the campsite and started packing up the stuff, slinging things around. I saw a light come on about 30 feet away and start moving in Colby's and my direction. "Is that Sam?" I asked Colby, pressing closer to him. Even if I knew it was probably one of our friends, seeing a floating ball of light coming towards you in the middle of  a black forest was terrifying. "Yeah, he is supposed to let us know when it's time to run out. I'm assuming that's now. The light got closer and Sam's face came into view. I took a deep breath. I hadn't been one hundred percent positive that it was him. The stories had gotten to me more than I thought. "You guys ready?" We nodded. I noticed that the girls were behind him. "Okay, we're all going to spread out then, when I yell "COME TO ME," we are all going to run at them screaming that line from different directions. Got it?" "Yeah, we got it." "Corey is going to hate me." Devyn whined a little, but she was smiling. "I think Jake might just have a silent heart attack." Tara said, grinning. I think she was enjoying this. We followed Sam back towards the front of the forest, and then spread out just one or two trees apart. Corey was just getting around to ripping his tent down, when Sam started the chant. "COME TO MEE!" We took off running straight for them, yelling the chant over and over. Corey tried to turn around fast and run at the same time, I think. He somehow fell over, mid turn, and ended up on top of the tent, making it collapse. Jake tried to run backwards but Tara was aiming straight for him and barreled straight into him. He caught her and they both toppled over backwards, doing a flip on the ground. Devyn stopped in front of Corey, laughing. His eyes were wide and he had his hand to his chest. "Oh what in the actual f**k Devyn! I can't breathe." His breath was coming in short gasps. Dev was still laughing but she leaned down and put her hand on his back. "Aw, I'm sorry baby. It was just a joke." She replied. "You almost killed me! This was Sam and Colby wasn't it?!" Devyn nodded, giggling. Corey looked towards them, and shook his head. "I knew it. I knew it was a prank...but then I wasn't sure, because you guys wouldn't just come the f**k out!" He stood up and pulled the top of the tent, then let it drift back down. "I broke my tent. You made me break my tent. We're sleeping with one of you guys tonight." Colby laughed. "I can help you fix the tent, if it's not too bad." He walked over to help Corey set the tent back up. Jake was still lying on the ground with Tara straddling him. He was breathing heavy. He looked up at Tara. "You suck, you know that? Why would you do that to me? I was actually worried." She laughed, and smacked his chest lightly. "Cuz it was fun." She flipped her hair and then climbed off of him, standing up. He got up, looking at Sam. "This was you guys. I knew it prob--" Sam cut him off. "WELCOME TO THE MEGA MEGA--" Corey cut Sam off. "THAT'S MY LINE!" He took a deep breath. "WELCOME TO THE MEGA MEGA ULTRA PRANK WARS!!"  He said this so quickly, that I barely understood it, the words just rolling together. We all laughed. He was holding the tent up for Colby, but he was staring at Sam, eyes wide. "You can't say that anymore after what you just did. I revoke the right." Sam laughed and shook his head. "Sorry brother, but you have to admit...it was good." Corey looked at Colby and then at his tent. "Yeah, I guess it was." He said smiling. "BRO, I literally think I almost died. I almost had a heart attack brother!" "Corey!" Colby shouted. Corey looked at him. "What?" "Pay attention brother. I need to you to hold this part up." Corey grabbed the part of the tent that Colby was showing him and held it up. Colby went back to work on the putting the structure poles in the tent. "I'm never going camping with you guys again. This is it. I'm done." He said, vehemently. His face was dead serious but we knew that he would if we begged just a little and promised no funny stuff. Sam shrugged. "Yeah you will. I just promised that there wouldn't be any rituals or anything.
