Zoey P.O.V.

"Caleb I love you," were my last words before the person shot me.

I dropped my phone and fell to the ground.

"ZOEY! ZOEY BABY WHAT WAS THAT NOISE!" I could hear Caleb screaming over the phone.

I held my stomach as I started coughing up blood.

This is what death feels like I guess.

It's slow and painful.

I saw my whole life flashing before my eyes.

Every mistake I wish I could take back flashed before me.

I was looking up as the person who shot me stood over my body.

It's like they are waiting and watching me die to make sure I'm gone for good.

This person has no remorse.

But then again why would they?

They obviously came here to hurt me right?

This wasn't just some burglary I could feel that the person behind the black ski mask was a person I knew.

As the last breaths of my life escaped me the person took off their mask.

The killer revealed themself to me.

I was in fact dying at the hands of someone I knew.

As my eyes slowly began to close I heard a second gun shot.

Her eyes went wide and she fell right to the ground beside me.

Is she dead or just injured I asked myself.

Where did that second gun shot come from.

Are Caleb's parents home?

I don't remember them owning a gun.

Just before my eyes shut a figure came over and stood over me.

The person looked beside me then right at me.

The person bent down and I felt my body being picked up.

"Zoey hang in there! Shit! Don't you fucking die on me!" the person said.

I closed my eyes as my life was being literally held in this person's arms.

I opened my eyes slowly hearing a beeping noise.

I blinked a few times and saw a white ceiling.

I looked over and saw a window then looked to the other side and saw a monitor.

I'm in a hospital and my body feels like shit.

I'm so sore and feel weak.

I looked ahead of me and saw a man sitting in a chair.

He wasn't a man I recognized.

The man noticed I was awake and stood up.

"Hold on ma'am let me get the doctor," the man said as he headed out of my room.

I tried to sit up a bit.

My throat felt really dry.

As I sat waiting for a doctor I heard a loud commotion outside in the hallway.
