Chapter 17

I was seated beside Stiles as I actually worked on homework. We have been stuck in detention for half an hour. I didn't mind it really, it actually allowed me to focus for once. In detention, there was no supernatural world, not Alpha out to get Scott. Nothing, just me and my assignment. Lame I know, but it was so relaxing, to say the least.

"Excuse me, sir? I know it's detention and all, but," Scott called out and I looked over to him, "I'm supposed to be at work, and I don't want to get fired."

Mr. Harris straight-up ignored Scott, as the man continued to work on god, knows what the hell he was doing.

I rolled my eyes as I returned to my work as well.

"You knew I would heal," Scott whispered over to Stiles.

Really, it wasn't that much of a whisper since the three of them was stuck in a silent room where even a pin could make a noise. I placed my pencil down and actually turned to him. I knew very well Mr. Harris could hear us, so why the hell should I try to be good.

"Yep," Stiles answered.

"So you did that to help me learn?" Scott asked.

"Yep," Stiles echoed himself once more.

"But partially to punish me," Scott stated.

I placed my hand on Stiles' thigh as I answered sarcastically, "Took you long enough to see that one."

"Yeah," Stiles answered, placing his hand over my own, "Well, that one's obvious."

"Dude, you're my best friend," Scott leaned forward, "And I can't have you being angry with me."

"I'm not angry anymore," Stiles answered.

I squeezed his thigh to get his attention as I returned to my sarcasm, "Oh, he's still angry but he's content with what happened as a way of means to alleviate that hate."

"Babe," Stiles sighed, "Can you not ruin this bro moment."

My eyebrow arches as I took my hand off his lap and just went back to my assignment.

It was clear that he was not happy that my hand was pulled away but he then turned back Scott, "Look, you have something, Scott. Okay? Whether you want it or not, you can do things that nobody else can do."

"So that means you don't have a choice anymore," I commented as Scott tried to understand.

Stiles sighed as he leaned forward toward Scott, "It means you have to do something."

"I know," Scott sighed, "And I will."

Mr. Harris got up from his desk as he turned over to the three of us, "Alright, all three of you, out of here."

I sighed loudly as I exclaimed, "Thank the gods!"

Scott rushed out before Stiles and I but made sure to say thank you to Mr. Harris as he left. Stiles took my hand as we walked out of the school. As I was about to allow him to guide me to his jeep out of habit, I had to stop him.

"Wait, Stiles," I laughed, "I drove myself here, remember?"

"Right," he smiled, "I'm just so used to you being in my car all the time."

"How about I meet you at your place?" I asked, flirting with him.

He grinned, quickly understanding what I was implying, "I'll see you there, baby girl."

"I sure hope so," I laughed.

Stiles and I walked up to his room, saying hello to his dad as we passed. His dad was about to return back to the station, which left the house to us. I sat on his bed, kicking off my heels and looked over to Stiles. Stiles tossed his backpack over to his desk as he walked over to me, slowly.
