24. LIBRARY GUY

It has been almost a month. He did distance himself. Whenever I pass by him, he would just act as if he didn't see me or as if we don't know each other.

I would always look at him hoping he'd talk to me and take back everything he said. But I was hoping for something clearly impossible.

He started flirting with other girls during break time. He would put his arms around one of them. I even caught him biting his lip when this specific girl who is wearing a mini skirt pick up something in front of him.

For the 3rd time this day, I passed by him and he treated me like air. I teared up, remembering when we're still together. "You'll be fine Jen." I whispered to myself.

I went to the library to return a book I borrowed. The librarian wasn't there so I waited. Not long, a guy, my age went inside.

"Excuse me?" He looked at me. "Where's the librarian?"

"Ah.. She's on a leave. I'm her grandson. I'm here to do all her work until she's feeling well." I nodded. "Anyway, my name's Jong In." He reached out his hand.

"J-jennie." I shook his hand. "I wanted to return this." I gave him the book I borrowed. "Goodluck on running the library." I bowed. "I better get going."

"Wait!" The people around us looked. "I-I'm sorry." He bowed. "Um, what I was saying is.. Are you free this afternoon?"

"Why'd you ask?"

"I don't know. Have a little talk?" He smiled.

"Um.. I'll see.. I guess? See you around Jong In." I waved and went out. "What on earth Jennie? You still haven't moved on from a break up and you're flirting."

I stopped when I noticed him. He's looking at me angrily. WHAT DID I DO THIS TIME?!

A girl pulled him, making him break eye contact. I quickly went the other way around.

"Hey there!" He walked ahead of me and blocked my way. "So about our talk?" He asked.

"Oh.. That? Um.. I... You see.." He took my hand and pulled me towards his bike. "Yah! Jong In!"

"I'm still gonna ask you again and again so might as well agree on this." He rode first. "Aren't you coming? I'll treat you."

"Ah, n-no thanks."

I heard a loud laugh coming from behind. It's Taehyung and his group of girls. Why is he walking casually while I'm here having a hard time?

"Aish. Just get on." He took my hand and made me ride his bike. "Hold onto me so you won't fall." He made me wrap my arms around him. "There." He stepped on both pedals and left the gate.

"Where are we going?"

"It's not like I'm some bad guy. Don't worry, I'm a good guy so I won't do anything fishy to you."

I didn't know if I should trust him just like when I trusted Taehyung that easy. "I'm sorry.. I have trust issues so.."

"Oh. Sure." We stopped outside a café. He ordered two coffees of our choice and cookies. "Now, tell me about yourself."

"Huh?"

"I want to know you."
