Hello!

This drawing is very special. And I had to get permission from him to release this. And for privacy reasons, I'm not saying who it is, who they are to me, but all I'm going to say is that he is a very special person. Very dear to me, who I care for a lot.
By personal request, please don't try and guess who he is or call him out.
On top of that, this piece of work is also dear to me, and I do not want it to be taken. Just a note.
Anyway, every year, Sydney holds the Archibald art competition as well as the Young Archie, the same competition but for young Australian artists. I heard about it during year seven (my first year of high school) when my art teacher mentioned to me about joining, but I didn't decide to participate until 2020.
You sign up at the start of the year and complete your piece by March or something and post it to Sydney for the judging to begin. I thought it sounded like a really fun idea, so I decided to participate for purely the experience, not the rewards if I was to earn any.
If you are a young Australia artist looking for a challenge and a fun experience with your artistic talents and are between the ages of five and eighteen, please follow this link to learn more:

Anyway, I chose this someone dear to me to draw, and using a reference, I drew a realistic portrait of him. This was a fun project that ended up going really well (for me, anyway) and the person I drew liked it too!
Below is a series of images of my artwork, and each picture represents half-an-hour's work. For example, the first image is what it looked like after half an hour of work, the second would be an hour, and so on and so forth.
     Thirty minutes (very light sketch):
