Hello!

Now onto my final artwork for this angel-themed assessment!

So, I was scrolling through Pinterest, as you do, and I found a beautiful Pin of a red rose. I was on Pinterest because I was procrastinating on my work, and didn't have an idea for my next artwork. So when I found the Pin, I was saved.

Roses are angelic, frail things, much like angels. In my mind, I picture meeting an angel as a very fragile situation. I feel as if you reached your hand forward to touch their almost transparent bodies that they will fade, or break. I don't know why. But that's how I picture angels to be.

So I saw the rose and thought, 'Yeah, this'll do.' Then I got out my final piece of paper and started sketching my draft. Then I went ahead and coloured it in with my watercolour pencils, and using my charcoal to add some shading and lighting.

     As you can see:

I was fourteen and three quarters (approximately) when I drew this.

This probably took an hour to two hours, I don't exactly remember, but that's a guess. Probably longer, to be honest.

Okay, I really like how this turned out. I didn't expect it to, but it did. The problem is, from afar, which is the distance you watch artworks from (unless you're that touchy-feely type of person who likes to get up close and personal to artworks), you don't see much detail. You have to look really close to see all the little details, and I think that's part of its beauty, but it's still a little frustrating. I didn't wanna get marked down for "not enough effort" when I spent fifteen minutes on each leaf on this thing.

Anyway, the drawing is somewhat realistic, but it was fun to draw, and I liked the way it turned out, so yay.

Okay, so this little paragraph will be dedicated to my feedback from these artworks after turning them in. Basically, I received a decent mark that I'm proud of, and I wasn't disappointed, and I definitely appreciated the feedback that was given to me. I was told that yes, the composition was good, but each piece seemed a little disconnected from the next. The eye and the angel were somewhat connected, but I was given the advice to link them together.

I think that's definitely a smart idea. I did find them a little disconnected myself, but wasn't sure how to incorporate one piece in the next. I probably should've done a little more planning before spewing my ideas down. The ideas that my art teacher gave me were awesome:

≈ Possibly, draw the angel holding a rose.

≈ Within the eye's reflection, a rose can be seen.

Both awesome ideas that I will take into account.

Hey, so, I'm sorry for this long upload, but I felt like sharing my feedback, heh heh.

So, yesterday, my dad got my family Netflix. That's right, I've never used Netflix before. And no, I have no idea what Netflix and Chill means (heh). Anyway, I didn't upload 'cause I was watching that.

Also, if anyone has any show/movie recommendations (including C-Dramas and J-Dramas), please feel free to chuck 'em at me because... yeah.

Anyways, have a great day/night, everyone! Stay COVID safe!
