Chapter 37 "Confessions"

Danny threw his back against his chair as he placed his phone of his desk. He threw his back and looks up to the ceiling then he called out to Megan and she rushes into his office leaving the door wide open

Megan:Yes Mr.Rand?

Danny:Call Emma Frost that I'll be attending her dance tonight

Megan:O-of course Mr.Rand*she spoke nervously as she started to walk through the wide door*

Danny:And make sure to ask her for information about the dance, and call my driver*Megan nodded and she walked out as she grabs the door leaving a crack open. Danny slouched forward his desk and grabs his phone to attempt to call Peter again*

He heard knocks on his large window causing him to sit up straight and place his phone back to his desk. He raises his eyebrow in confusion as he sees Nova who was hovering behind the window and was tapping on the glass then he stood up and walked around his desk, he walked towards the window and opens it as Nova hovered as he had his arms crossed

Danny:Yes Nova? Why are you here?

Nova:I just came to see how you're doing

Danny:Why?

Nova:Because Peter asked me to, I did him a favor and dropped some paperwork at SHIELD for his lawyer

Danny:That's good...

Nova:So what are you doing? You looked stressed

Danny:It's nothing that you should be concerned about Sam...

Nova:Whatever you say man, I guess I'll go back to Peter and say how you're keeping secrets from him again then...

Danny:God Sam...fine...I'm a bit scared to ask Peter...

Nova:Scared to ask him what?

Danny:About our relationship...I know that he wants to keep it private but I'm not sure that I want that

Nova:Well I'm not exactly a relationship counselor

Danny:I know, I don't expect you to help anyway

Nova:Well I do have a thought...it's either that Peter is quiet about his sexuality and doesn't to make fun of, or that he doesn't want you to be a target, or maybe it's both

Danny:Both?

Nova:Yes Danny. It's obvious that the reason he wants to keep this relationship hidden is mostly because of you, even a dead man could see that*he sees Danny go silent*Listen Danny, if you're so bothered by this then talk to Peter, unless...you want him to get more weight on his shoulders...the choice is yours*Danny remained silent as Nova flew off, Joy walked in the office and sees Danny near the window looking down*

Joy:Uh Danny?*she spoke that had made Danny quickly turn his head towards her*

Danny:Oh Joy, hey, I was just- getting some fresh air, I didn't felt like getting out of my office

Joy:Oh uh actually, I came here since I heard from Megan that you're going to the dance with Emma tonight...

Danny:Yeah I am...me and Emma need to catch up

Joy:That's good...have you chosen your outfit?

Danny:I'll come up with something...*he walks back to his desk while Joy smiles softly at him that looks a bit sad then she looks down to Danny's desk as she heard loud vibrating from Danny's phone*

Joy:I'll leave you be then...*she walks out of the door as she grabs the door handle and closes it, Danny grabs his vibrating phone and sees that his screen was a phone call from Emma, he answers it and places it against his ear*
