A day had passed and despite not wanting to, Mallory found herself traveling to Klaus' house after he sent her several messages. "I got your messages. This better be life and death or I'm leaving," Mallory called out to Klaus loudly.

"Go away," Klaus snapped at Mallory in a low, gruff tone.

"Klaus? Where the hell are you? I can hear your annoying voice, but I can't seem to see you," Mallory called out tauntingly, only to frown as she turned the corner to find Klaus shirtless sitting on the floor. He was leaning on a piano seat, seeming to be in pain, "What the hell happened to you?"

"I need more time. Stop hounding me!" He shouted at her angrily, much to Mallory's confusion.

"You're joking, right? I'm hounding you?" Mallory scoffed loudly as she made her way over to him, "I'm supposed to be helping Caroline with the prom committee right now, but I can't seem to do that with the hundreds of bloody text messages you've been sending me."

"Mallory," Klaus stated, his eyes widening in realization, "Is it really you?"

Hearing Klaus' choice of words, Mallory began to frown in confusion, "Who else would it be?"

Klaus struggled to pull himself onto the piano seat. Soon enough, he succeeded and leaned back against the piano. "Prove it to me."

"Is this your newest way of flirting with me 'cause it sucks," Mallory shot Klaus a weird look before she turned on her heel and began to leave, "I have other things to be doing right now. So I'm going to just leave. So see ya!"

"Wait, please. Silas...He stabbed me with the white oak stake," He suddenly informed her, causing Mallory to turn to him in concern, "There's a--a piece of it stuck inside me."

"Why would Silas attack you? Of all people, why you?" Mallory asked, frowning in confusion.

"Well, I was in no position to ask questions. Suffice it to say, I'm hurt. So you can understand why I called you," Klaus explained, causing Mallory to let out a loud scoff.

"You ran my boyfriend out of town, you bit me, and you think I'm the person to call for help?" Mallory asked with an attitude and Klaus stared up at her with a genuine look.

"You're...You're the only one I trust to do this," He confessed and Mallory's eyes softened, realizing he was being genuine.

"What do you want me to do?" Mallory found herself asking as she moved closer to him.

"Well, it's quite simple, really. I need you to cut the stake out of me," He informed her as he gestured down to a pair of bloody pliers lying on the rug.

Mallory looked down at them, sighing deeply before she picked them up.

Several moments later, Klaus was standing in front of the piano, leaning against it as Mallory used the pair of pliers to try to dig out the white oak stake.

"Oh, my god," She exclaimed in shock, causing Klaus to turn to her with a concerned look on his face, "Color me shocked. I think I actually found your heart. And all this time I thought you didn't have one."

Klaus found himself yelling out in pain through gritted teeth as Mallory moved the pliers in his back. "Apologies, it seems it was just a bloody rib."

"Well, I'm glad you're finding my misery so amusing," Klaus commented in a sarcastic tone.

"I do, actually. But I dare say I'm not the only one that feels that way," She confessed, a taunting smile on her face, "Ugh, I'm telling you, there's nothing in here. And if you think I'm having fun, you've gone completely mad. Digging into your back is the last thing I'd like to be doing right now."
