Mark - Insomnia

Description: Yuta suffered with insomnia and kept it away from his boyfriend Mark.

Yuta suffered with insomnia, he never use to, but the passed few years, he's been having awful nightmares and he refuses to sleep.

He lived with his boyfriend, Mark, but he suggested to sleep in separate rooms not wanting to disturb the younger while he was awake all night.

Mark though it was odd, couples usually slept in the same room, the same bed, but Mark and Yuta didn't do that.

Of course, Mark wanted to respect Yuta's choices but it did bother him sometimes on why they slept in separate rooms.

He wanted to speak to Yuta about it but he didn't know how to bring it up, so he kept it to himself. The two were cuddling on the couch watching netflix, Yuta playing with Mark's hands.

Mark thought Yuta was the cutest thing ever, because he really was, he looked up at the elder and smiled at him, Yuta returned the smile and left a peck on the youngers lips.

Mark had been noticing lately the dark circles under Yuta's eyes, they were quite obvious, especially because he hasn't been wearing makeup lately since they haven't been going out.

Mark started wondering on how much sleep the elder was actually getting, because by the lack of energy Yuta had and the dark circles under his eyes, it was clearly not much.

Mark sighed, pulling Yuta closer to him, Yuta was confused but snuggled into the warmth of the younger regardless, enjoying the comfort.

"Buba?" Mark called out. Yuta hummed, acknowledging he's listening. "How much sleep are you getting? You seem really tired and really low on energy.." Mark finally said, voicing his thoughts.

Yuta froze, hoping it wasn't obvious, but Mark felt the way the elder froze. "U-uhm... about 6 hours..?" Yuta stuttered, telling Mark he was lying.

Yuta always stuttered when he lied, Mark just sighed, not saying anything, acting like he believed the elder.

Yuta generally thought Mark believe him and cuddled up against the younger impossibly more.

When the night came, Mark begged Yuta to come and sleep with him, he wanted to cuddle with the elder but Yuta declined and went to his room before Mark could ask anymore.

The younger sighed in embarrassment, tears welling up in his eyes.

Why did Yuta never want to be with him?

Did he bother him too much in the day that he doesn't want to cuddle?

Mark just sighed, going to his room with a heavy heart.

Yuta felt awful having to reject his boyfriend, he really wanted to cuddle, but what if he disturbed Mark while he was trying to sleep? What if he kept him awake because he couldn't sleep?

He didn't want to risk Mark's health getting worse because of his stupid issues. When Mark asked him about his sleep, Yuta felt so bad lying to him, but he didn't want to bother him.

After a few hours, he heard footsteps coming closer to his door, Yuta quickly laid down and closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep, just in case Mark came in.

And his suspicions were correct, the younger did come in. He heard tiny sniffles coming from the younger, Yuta's heart broke, was he crying because of him?

He heard Mark come closer and felt a dip in the bed, "Why do you never want to sleep with me.. why don't you want to cuddle..? Do I bother you too much..?" He whispered to himself.

Yuta felt tears pool up in his eyes, was this how Mark was feeling? He hurt him? He didn't mean to...

He felt someone get under the covers and wrap and arm around his waist, pulling him closer. Yuta quickly turned around and buried his head in the youngers chest.

"Yu..?" Mark whispered out, "Are you awake?" The younger questioned. Yuta nodded, looking up at Mark with glistening eyes.

A tear slipped from his eye, "Hey, hey, hey, why are you crying?" Mark ask worriedly, wiping away the tear.

"Is that really the reason why you think I don't want to be with you?" Yuta asked, more tears falling from his eyes.

Mark sighed and nodded, pulling the elder closer to him. He's always wanted to do this, cuddle the man while they try to sleep.

Yuta pulled away from the younger and sat up. "That's not the reason Mark! You never bother me!" More tears came from the elders eyes as he tried to wipe them away but they kept falling.

Mark also slowly sat up, "Then why.. why don't you want to be with me.." He asked quietly. "I-" Yuta didn't know what to say, talking about his problems was something he found incredibly hard, he'd much rather be the listener than the talker.

Mark made eye contact with the elder and took his hand in his, "Please tell me Yuta.. something must be going on with you.. are you always awake at this time? Is that why you're so low on energy? Is that why you don't want to be with me..?" Mark questioned.

That's one thing that bothered Yuta about Mark, he always knew what was wrong, he always knew something was wrong.

Yuta took a deep breath and nodded, "I just.. I've had awful nightmares for so long.. I can't sleep.. every time I try.. it just doesn't happen or I'll be woken up because of a nightmare.." He finally confessed.

Mark felt so bad for Yuta, he quickly grabbed him
and pulled him into his chest, "Oh baby.." Mark whispered, caressing the elders hair. "I just never wanted to bother you! I really didn't mean to make you upset Markie.." Yuta sobbed.

"You'd never bother me, Yuta.. you can always come talk to me, you know that right..? I'll never be mad at you." Mark said, pulling away, wiping away his boyfriends tears.

Yuta nodded, sniffling, he placed his hand on Mark's and just enjoyed the warmth of the elders hand on his cheek. Mark smiled at the elders actions and took his hand in his.

Mark stood up from the bed and pulled Yuta up with him. The elder was confused, but followed Mark either way.

Mark led them both to his room, since his bed was bigger and guided Yuta to the bed and pushed him down.

"You'll stay here from now on, do you understand?" Mark asked sternly. Yuta felt small under the youngers gaze and just nodded.

The Canadian smiled and went to the other side of the bed and slipped under the covers. He pulled Yuta by his waist and cuddled him, he knew how much the elder enjoyed being the little spoon.

Yuta felt safe in Mark's embrace and cuddled up into the warmth even more and for the first time in a long long time he actually fell asleep.

No nightmares.

No waking up.

A fall night sleep, Yuta finally got it. Al thanks to Mark.

yooo, the resonance mv was so good, it really caught me off guard on maw, 90's love and work it all mixed together though.

quick rant:

i'm sick and tired of Yuta being mistreated. It's so stupid, he hasn't had an ending fairy for us to find out it was cut and wasn't even filmed? What. He's been mistreated so much by SM since he's debut. He barley gets any lines, he's a main dancer and he's at the back? What? Yuta is such a popular member and if SM played their cards right and promoted him properly, there would be so many more NCTZENS, which means more money for SM.

Everyone adored Yuta predebut and that show he was on, so many korean fans adored him and if SM let everyone know he's the same Yuta, there would be more fans. But no. They don't promote him properly. They give him the bare minimum and i'm sick of it.

In the vogue shooting he got 0.9 seconds of screen time while the other members go zooms up and everything. In the AAA's when all 23 of them came out, all members got a close up shot BUT Yuta.

I'm so sick of it.

He deserves better.
