Chapter 50: What in the Merlin?

⬆️This is a layout of the twins' flat I thought of the other day. I am not an architect or anything like that but I thought you may like to have an idea or  inspiration.

Since Fred and I agreed to being friends, things actually were a lot less awkward. Time passes quickly when you are having fun and nearly 6 months later, we were all sitting in the living room chatting. Katie moved in permanently and I just stayed. I still caught myself looking at Fred, but I tried to ignore it. He was still meeting up with Angelina sometimes though.

She even joined us for the twins' birthday 4 weeks ago and we had great fun. It wasn't a big party though. We just ordered some pizza and chatted all night. Of course, the twins did some pranking since their birthday is in the 1st April but luckily we all survived without any injuries.

I was zoomed out and lost in my thoughts when suddenly an owl flew onto the coffee table.

I leaned forward and took the letter and slowly opened when I realised it was from Bill and Fleur

"Hey guys! It is from Bill and Fleur" I informed the others

"Really? Come on read it out" George told me

"Dear Fred, George, Katie, Emily and Y/N,

We hope you are all alright and the twins didn't kill you on their 20th birthday.

We thought that we should inform you about the fact that Harry, Hermione and Ron paid us a visit.

They escaped from Malfoy Manor and they also freed Luna Lovegood, Mr. Ollivander and a goblin called Griphook. They told us that a house elf named Dobby saved them but sadly he passed away...

For Fred and George, Ron is quite alright respecting the circumstances. Of course, Hermione and Harry are the same.

They left this morning to get to Gringotts to get into Bellatrix's volt so if you hear anything since you live in Diagon Alley maybe help them....

But please stay safe

Fleur and Bill" I finished reading

"Thanks Merlin, they are alright" Fred sighed

"We don't know how they are now" Katie pointed out "We should really keep an eye out"

"Katie's right Freddie! I mean yeah it is good to here that they are alright, but this letter is from this morning or something and another innocent life was taken. We should keep an eye out! I hate to say this, but they could be dead by now" George said and silence fell over the room

"Maybe we should go to Gringotts and see what is going on" Emily suggested breaking the silence

"That is not a bad idea, but we have to be careful" Fred agreed "We don't wanna end dead do we?" no one answered but we secretly all agreed.

We took our wands and coats and made our way out of the flat

"I'd say we should keep together" Katie said while we made our way to the wizardry bank

Just when we reached Gringotts Emily shouted: "What in the Merlin?" she looked at the dome and we all followed her glaze.

We saw a white dragon breaking through the glass

"Is that a good or bad sign?" Fred asked

I think they were all too focused on the dragon, so I spoke up

"It is a good sign!" I told "Didn't you see them?" I asked

"Who?" Emily asked confused

"There were 3 people on the dragon's back! And of them had flaming red hair!" I explained

"So, you think that it was Ron?" George asked

"We can't be sure, but I don't think it would have been a goblin and since one of the 3 people had red hair the chances are pretty high"

"Do you want to say that there aren't a lot of people with ginger hair?"

"Don't be stupid Fred! Even at Hogwarts you and your family were nearly the only one with red hair and it is one of the rarest hair colours" I told him

"But even it were Harry, Ron and Hermione were on the dragon how is that a good sign?" Katie asked

"That at least means that they are still alive and during these times it definitely is a good sign" I said

"Y/N is right! It may not be the best news that our little brother is flying on the back of a dragon but at least he is still alive" Fred agreed "But we should probably head back since the Ministry will know about this soon and we all know that even the Ministry is under control of the Dark Lord" Fred said

"He is right! We will keep listening to Potterwatch for news but for now we should head back" Katie said and we made our way back to the flat.

I have a really bad feeling about all of this and I feel like bad things are about to happen...

I am sorry if I mess up the storyline. I am currently rereading the books, but I mostly base all of the movies so if anything happened differently I am sorry...
