Noelle's POV

We fly out to New York for the competition this Friday because we're taking team pictures and do team bonding stuff.

I've been practicing nonstop and I'm exhausted but I really believe maybe I could be a famous Ballerina or a Broadway dancer.

Jesse and two other seniors ended up earning the solos which stirred some drama with the other moms

Last week

All the soloists are in Studio F taking turns performing our solos. After we perform we get critiques from each other

I went first since ballet is scored first

I began my dance and everything was going well. I was concentrating on my movements when the door busted open

Moms from our junior dance team came in barreling in

"We need to talk Jenna" they demand

"I'm in the middle of something can't it wait"

"No it can't! We don't think it's fair for this group to have solos"

"And why's that" she chuckled

"Noelle and Zach always get special treatment over our kids who have been dancing here for years. The other girls would like duets or trios but they always take up the spot"

"All your kids get solos as a result. Noelle and Zach haven't had a solo on this team while your kids have each had several. Noelle is a humble and considerate dancer. The girls decided that she deserved a solo after she gave Tori a role she really wanted. Tori didn't deserve it but Noelle wouldn't have taken the position over her out of kindness. Zach is hard working and deserves a solo before the season end"

"Our kids deserve the solos too! The seniors should allow the younger girls the opportunity for those scholarships"

"But the seniors are graduating soon they deserve it more than any of us. If you were arguing that a senior deserved the spot over me then I'd agree but I work hard and I think I do deserve this solo" I defended

"So our kids aren't hard workers. She's not humble, she's not even a ballerina. She could be a background dancer on Broadway but never a Prima at a ballet school. Naomi dreams of becoming a ballerina would you really kid yourself and throw away this opportunity" she asked me

"I'm going to do my best and no matter the outcome it would not be a waste of an opportunity because I did amazing"

"Noelle is the youngest dancer competing in ballet. So if she doesn't succeed it's because she lacked the experience the other dancers had. She's an amazing dancer and as long as she gives it her all I'll be happy. I'll make her attend more ballet privates but I would never say she wasted an opportunity. Your daughter has ran off stage 4 times because she choked but I never said she wasted an opportunity because I understand the anxiety can get to some dancers. Don't tear down Noelle. You're an adult she is a child" Jerry said

Present

"Tori it's been three weeks and you're still falling out of that turn sequence. I gave you an ample amount of time I'm sorry but Noelle will be the lead in this group number"

"That's all right I think it'll look way better if she does it" she said sad

"Noelle dead center. I assume you know what to do"

"I think so" I answered

We ran through the group number multiple times and Jenna yelled less with me completing all the turns properly
