Prologue 2 ➵ Unravelled

"I see that you have a great potential as a hunter."  The man stated.

Itsuki stared at the man before her, this was the first time she acknowledged life outside the clan. She scrutinised the man with curiosity, he was young and rather handsome, he had clean features along with a pair of determined eyes that seemed to tell a heartwarming story.
Though there was something about this man Itsuki couldn't quite figure out. There was just something mysterious about this man's presence, something beyond Itsuki's knowledge. But one thing was for sure, this man was powerful.
Itsuki felt it in him.
He proved it just by trespassing the Zalax property, barely anyone was capable of finding here.

"Oh my.... are you by any chance... a human?!" Itsuki beamed, casting an astonished look.

The man gave her a questioning look.
"Well, last time I checked i am indeed a human. Might i point out that you are one... too?"

Itsuki was suddenly flushed with embarrassment by her exaggerated act from before.
"Ah.. um... yeah... of course.. that's right... It's just that i've never seen anyone apart from my clan, i've only heard stories about you guys and to think that i actually met one..." Itsuki trailed off, still embarrassed and trying very hard to think of something else to say before it gets awkward. "Oh... um you said that i had potential as a hunter? what's that?"

The man looked pleased,
as if he was waiting for this question. He made his way towards the girl and settled down beside her.

"Aren't you curious of what the world holds for us?" The man began,
"as a hunter, it is my obligation to find the answers.
To seek the unexplored lands.
To find the hidden pieces that make up the world.
To reach the highest mountains and the deepest of valleys.
To Hunt for the unknown.
To reach for the stars.
Everyday, as hunters, we stumble across something new, discover something new, enjoying the thrill that the unknown brings us."
The man finished as he gazed up the sky.

Itsuki couldn't help but admire his passion, how his eyes gleamed with excitement just by talking about it. It made her want the same. It made her crave for the same lifestyle, the freedom to learn, to explore.
Itsuki would be lying if she said she wasn't intrigued.

For the next few hours, the man told Itsuki many of his adventures where she listened intently to every word. Oceans, deserts, pyramids, they were all things that Itsuki has never heard of. It made her feel so small, so constrained...
It provoked an intense curiosity within her, she wanted to see for herself what the world was like.

For the first time she wanted to be somewhere. She wanted to explore the world.

"Mister, why are you here?" Itsuki was genuinely puzzled, she honestly didn't know what was so interesting about this place.

"To see for myself if the rumours were true. A secretive clan, that has never set foot on solid ground and has the power of healing. It certainly was interesting. Not to mention your clan's history too."

Now, Itsuki was really confused.
"Our history?"

"Yes, your history. I happened to know quite a bit about your clan's origin, maybe even more than all of you. The powers...the curse-"

"ITSUKI!" interrupted a familiar voice, it was Kai. He was currently riding a Typhon which he swiftly jumped off and landed in Itsuki's cave.

"Kai! Where were you!? We have a visitor! Look-"

Itsuki turn around to where the man was, only to find he wasn't there. He was gone.
