Building an Electric Car (Top Gear)

Jr: I'm gonna show you a video from Top Gear, and I'll explain what Top Gear and The Grand Tour is

Iida: What is it about

Jr: It's about three guys, Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond doing many things that is car related and it's really funny and memorable. They were on BBC's Top Gear before until Jeremy didn't understand his contract so he got fired, James and Richard refused to go on without him so they quit as well and a few years later, they do their own car show on Amazon Original Series' Grand Tour

Everyone then wanted to watch Jeremy, James, and Richard do their thing so bad and even felt bad after what happened at the end of their Top Gear career.

Jr: Now, let's get going and see a video from them

The screen starts with James explaining what they were doing.

James: It's all very simple, really. I am in charge with the batteries and the electric motors.

Bakuhoe: He's just like four eyes

James: Clarkson is in charge, God help us, of the bodywork and interior,

Deku: What's wrong with Jeremy doing the bodywork?

Jr: Richard and James don't trust with Jeremy doing everything

James: And Richard Hammond is in charge of the chassis and the brakes.

Inko: So they're building a car out of scrap?

Jr: They do lots of things with cars than making their own car. They review, race, and do many things with cars, even if it destroys the car itself, even have celebrities come over to talk and time them in a car for a time trial race in the same car they always use for the celebrities to drive in

Richard: If you are going to build your own car, there's no point just throwing the chassis together yourself. You'll get caught up in 20 years of red tape trying to get it registered to use on the road, so, what you need to do is use the chassis from an older car.

Mina: Why can't they use any car chassis

Kaminari: I know right

Richard: But there is a problem, because most modern cars don't have a chassis as such. It's all kind of built into the body, so, you need to choose from an older car.

Mina and Kaminari then were dumbfounded to hear that from Richard.

Richard: Specifically, you've got a choice of either a Land Rover, A Lincoln Town Car, or this, a TVR Chimaera. (Narration) I bought this one for £5,000 and I was going to remove its body and engine and then use its chassis as the backbone of our new car. James, meanwhile, was preparing to cannibalise something a bit less sporty.

Seiji: What does he mean "Less sporty?"

James then was seen driving a milk float.

James: I shall be using the electric motor from this, which just leaves me with the problem with the batteries. Now, the Tesla, that American electric sports car, uses 6,831 batteries,
