payton puts his arm around your shoulder as it begins to play. you smile at his voice. you rub his chest as the chorus hits. then it's your voicemail.

P | that's you aug.

you laugh. when it finishes you hug him.

A | that was so good payt!

P | thank you guys.

Kevin | you did the hard part.

Dale | awesome work man. this shit will be ready for release this week.

P | seriously?

Dale | absolutely.

P | that's crazy. i have shoots scheduled in LA for album covers.

Kevin | great! i just wanted to show you that real quick. we can setup a meeting tomorrow morning or something to fix up anything.

P | yeah. does...

he looks at you.

P | do you wanna wake up early? or we can go later at like 2 or 3.

A | it doesn't matter.

P | can i text you when i wake up?

Kevin | sure man. it's going to be a pretty slow day out here.

P | thank you.

A | thanks so much.

P | i'll stop by tomorrow.

Dale | see ya then.

you walk out to payton's car. he closes the door and looks out the front window.

A | are you okay?

he looks at you and pull your chin forward into a slow passionate kiss. you put your hand on the side of his face before he pulls away. a huge smile spans across your face.

P | i know this is a really weird time. but before i leave for tour i wanted to make sure you're completely off limits.

A | what?

P | so i know no one can take my place while i'm gone.

A | what are you saying.

P | i'm asking you to be my girlfriend audrey.

you cover your mouth with your hand.

A | yes! yes!

P | really?

A | absolutely.

he smiles and lays his head into your shoulder and laughs. you scratch the back of his head with your hand. you head home and faith and joanne aren't back yet. you walk up to payton's room and flop on his bed.

P | what are you doing silly,

you groan.

P | come on you need to change.

A | nope i'm going to bed.

P | you can't go to bed yet.

A | i already did.

he laughs.

P | here.

he pulls another hoodie down from his closet and gives it to you.

P | change into this and the we'll head to bed.

A | fine.

he walks into the bathroom. you change into his sweatshirt and follow him into the bathroom and wrap your arms around his chest while he brushed his teeth. he laughs and puts his free arm around you and rubs your back. he gives you your toothbrush. you brush you teeth with him and then get in bed. you cuddle up on top on him and fall asleep so fast. you wake up before payton and scroll through tik tok when you see a video he took last night.

payton wakes up soon after.

A | good morning payt.

he smiles at the sight of you.

P | good morning.

he hugs you tight.

A | you want to tell your friends we'll be over soon?

P | i told them to move it back.

A | why?

P | i have a surprise for you.

A | seriously?

P | yup. pack your bags up.

A | where are we going?

P | camping. with faith and her boyfriend.

A | really?! i've never been camping.

P | never?

A | nope.

P | were going to be out for 3 days.

A | i'm excited!

you pack up some clothes and slip in a few of payton's hoodies before taking a quick shower. you throw you hair up in a bun to dry. you two take your stuff downstairs where you meet faith and her boyfriend.

F | payton! audrey!

P | hey!

F | audrey, this is brandon. he's my boyfriend.

A | hey brandon. it's great to meet you.

you shake his hand.

A | you too.

F | are you two driving separately?

payton looks at you.

P | if you want?

A | sure.

P | okay. we'll take the supra.

brandon (B) | awesome.

payton puts your things in the back of the supra and you get in the passenger seat.

P | what do you want for breakfast?

A | you pick. i took you to my diners back home. what's a good North Carolina breakfast.

P | waffle house?

A | don't know what that is. let's go.

P | got it.

you guys go and eat a pretty large breakfast. it was so good. you didn't take your leftovers since you're going to be out camping. you start a drive through backroads where no one else is driving. there are fields and forest on either sides of you. your windows are rolled down and your country music is on full blast while you and payton scream the lyrics. the window flows through his hair and yours flys everywhere. you try and keep it out of your face and eventually you give up.

sorry for such a long wait. how will this camping trip go?
