you sit down at the kitchen table again. you call payton back. he doesn't answer. you get back to your work but you can't stop thinking about payton. you could finally meet him. your mom walks in the front door. you shoot out of your seat to help her bring her bags inside.

mom | why thank you audrey. this isn't like you?

A | i just thought i'd help.

mom | well that great! now, what do you want?

A | nothing?...

mom | spit it out audrey.

A | fine.

mom | i knew it.

A | i've been talking with this guy.

mom | you have a boyfriend?!!

A | no. but, this guy i've been talking to wants to fly out from north carolina to come see me.

mom | why? do you like him?

A | i don't know?

mom | really?

A | i seriously don't.

mom | oh my. where is he going to stay?

A | i mean... he could stay here. or there's plenty of hotels.

your mom gives you a look.

A | please! i really want to meet him.

mom | how do you know he's not 50 years old.

A | i've been facetiming him. i know what he looks like.

mom | it might not be the same guys.

A | come on mom! please. i beg you for this one thing.

mom | fine. he can stay here but he will be in the guest bedroom and maggie has to be over to watch you.

A | thank you! omg.

you give her a huge hug.

A | i'll go tell him!

mom | alright.

you grab your macbook and run upstairs. you call him on your macbook and he picks up.

P | hey!

A | hey payt!! guess what!

P | what is it?

A | my mom said you can come stay here.

P | seriously?! like stay... with you?

A | yeah! you and dylan can stay in the guest room.

P | great! that saves us hotel money.

A | i'm so excited what the- !!

P | here i can book a flight right now.

he opens up his laptop and dylan walks into his room.

D | yo, oh hey audrey! what's up?

A | hey dylan.

D | what are you guys up to?

P | we're booking a flight.

D | seriously? where?

P | to florida. we're going to see audrey.

D | you don't have to drag me with you if you don't want. i wouldn't want to interrupt-

P | no! dylan i want you to come. i want you to meet audrey.

D | alrighty then.

you smile at them.
