Calmness before Storm.

Next morning,
In Living Room.

Bihari was serving tea to Trilochan Kaka who was thinking something deeply.
Trilochan took a sip of the tea and shouted- yeh chai kisine banai hai? Itni gandi?

Bihari- mallik,aaj chai bahu rani ne nhi banai hai.
Bahu rani toh kal se kamre se bhi nhi aayi hai.

Kaka-pata nhi humari bahu ko aur kya kya sehna padega.

Anirudh coming inside the hall and shouting- arre yeh sab kya hai? Bihari,tumne ab tak tayiyariyan kyun nhi ki?

Bihari didn't answer him and went away.

Kaka- kis baat ki tayiyariyan bhai?

Anirudh- Kaka Mera vivaah hua hai. Iss ghar mein nayi bahu aayi hai. Aaj bahu-boron hai.

Binoy coming through stairs- Anirudh tumhe anadaza bhi hai tum kya keh rhe ho? Tumahri patni kal raat se kamre se Bahar bhi nhi aayi hai aur tum yahan apni..

Anirudh- baba,aap kaisi baatein kar rhe hain. Ab aapki nayi bahu aayi hai,jashan manayiye.

Kaka- Roy Chowdhary khandaan ki ek hi bahu thi ,hai aur rahegi. Bondita.

Anirudh- mein pure Tulsipur ko ayojeet karke aata hoon. Jisko aana hai woh aa Jaye.

Saying this Anirudh went outside rubbing off his tears.

Kaka- Pata nhi kiski nazar lag gyi hai humare ghar ko.

Bondita's room.

Bondita heard everything with her eyes closed. She didn't utter a word. Her feet which was injured due to glass pieces was red due to blood which had dried already.
She didn't sleep the whole night but she didn't even open her eyes.The photograph which they had clicked in Barrister robes was torn into two parts,separating Anirudh and Bondita.
Bondita was still waiting for Anirudh to answer her questions but he didn't come to her.

Outskirts of Tulsipur.

A person reached Tulsipur 2 mins ago. He had kept his bag on his shoulders and standing looking at the view.

Person-Toh yeh hai Tulsipur.
He walked ahead and reached near a tea shop. He ordered for a tea and sat on one of the benches.

He heard 2 women and men gossiping.

Men 1 - Sach kahun toh choti malkin ke liye bohot bura lag rha hai.

Woman 2- Haan,dada. Ek dam theek bolecho tumi.

Men 2- arre kya theek bolecho? Hum toh keh rhe hai jo hua acha hua. Arre kab tak woh Bondita malkin ka intezaar karte.

Women 1- intezaar ? Kya bol rhe hai aap dada.

Men 2- aare ,humne toh suna hai ki Chote Malik ne yeh vivaah isliye kiya hai taaki unke kuch armaan pure ho sake.

Woman 2- durgaa durgaa! Matlab choti malkin mein kuch khot hai ,tabhi toh chote maalik unse peecha chudane ke liye vivaah kiya?

Men 1 - aar ki bhabchile tumi? Aare mujhe toh pehele se hi lag rha tha ki malkin mein hi kuch kami hai.

Women 1- aare jaane do dada. Hjm kyun in logon ke ghar ke maamlon mein bolen. Cholo bhai cholo.

They were about leave when they saw their chote mallik coming.

Anirudh- sab hi suniye. Mein yahan yeh ghoshit karne aaya hoon ki Aaj meri patni ki bashi biye ki rasam hai.Pura Tulsipur
Ko bulaya jaa rha hai.

Same woman 1- chote maalik, aapko apki vivaah ki shubhkamnayen.

Woman 2 - aare mwin tih keh rhi hoon ki chote maalik ko ab ek acha aur sahi Jeevansaathi mila hai.

Soon the crowd disappeared, while Anirudh was about to turn his eyes went towards the kulfi stall. He remembered the moments he spent with Bondita.He rubbed of his tears and went away.

All the fiasco was heard by the person who was drinking the tea.

He utterd: toh yeh hai ,Roy Chowdhary ke bade bete.

A man in his 60s aas sitting beside him. He asked the person.

Man-Kichu bole tumi, Babu Moshai?

Person- naa Kaka,aami kichu boleni.

Man nodded and started to drink his tea. Again he asked confusingly- tum toh shayad pehli baar aaye ho yahan. Pehele kabhi dikhe nhi.

Person- Haan kaka. Woh kya hai na ki mein ek doctor hoon. Logon ka illaj karta hoon.

Man- ohh acha,khub bhalo.

The person after few mins asked.

Person - Kaka ek baat puchon.

Man- Haan pucho.

Person- yeh Roy Chowdhary haveli mein kya chal rha hai? Matlab abhi jo sunaa woh sab..

Man,sighing- arre beta,dekho. Roy Chowdhary ke bade bete ne dusra vivaah kiya hai.

Person-haan toh shayad unki peheki patni..

Man- na na. Uski peheli patni zinda hai.

Person,shocked - kya ? Phir usne dusri shaadi kyunki?

Man- arre aadmi hoke yeh sawaal puch rhe ho?aadki chahe kitni bhi shaadi Kare kuch Farak padta hai kya? Saying this the man left.

Person-Ek patni ke hote huye agar aadmi dusri shaadi kare toh woh mard kehelane ke layak nhi hota.

In Roy Chowdhary haveli.

The whole place was decorated. It had same decorations when Bondita's bashi-biye was happening.The same workers ,same flowers ,same lighting and same it was the same haveli.The element which was missing was happiness. No one was happy in the haveli. Villagers had started to come inside the house with gifts.
Manorama and Anirudh were standing together giving the best fake smiles to the ladies of the village.
The ladies were gossiping with other praising Manorama. One of the woman started to badmouth Bondita. Anirudh when heard this clenched his fist and was about to shout when,Batuk interrupted.

Batuk- agar aap log nhi chahte ki mein aapki bezzati karoon uoh chup chap khade rahiye.Mein bardaash nhi karunga agar kisi ne bhi meri boudi ki bezzati ki toh.Samjhe aap log ya kisi aur tarike se Samjhaun?

Anirudh was shocked to see this side of Batuk.

Woman 1- maaf karna chote maalik,magar aapke dada yoh kuch nhi bol rhe hain,magar aapko kyun itna bura lag rha hai?

Batuk- behen hai woh meri soch samajh ke baat kijiyega.
As he turned to leave ,he heard the women muttering- boudi hai yaa??

Batuk,with red eyes - bass! Ek lafz aur nhi.Mein apka Leehaaz karna bhool jaunga.

The women kept quiet as they knew that they would face bad consequences if they mess with zamindaar's son.
They left the place quietly.

Anirudh went towards Batuk keeping a hand on his shoulders and said.

Anirudh- Batuk aaj tumne jo kiya..

Batuk- woh shayad aapko karna chahiye tha. Par aap kyun karoge?Aapkii toh shaadi hui hai na.Aapki nayi patni aayi hai, peheli patni kya kare kya sunne kya farak padta hai aapko? Jiye yaa..

Anirudh,shouting- batukk..

Batuk- chillayiye mat.Aap jo kar rhe hain na,usse yoh boudi dheere dheere ghoot ghoot ke Mar rhi hai.
Kal raat se kamre se Bahar nhi nikli hai woh.Pura parivaar pareshaan hai par aapko kya farak padta hai,jashan manayiye apni shaadi ka.
Said Batuk with tears in his eyes and left.

Anirudh stood there numb. He came out of his thoughts when a man came and said to come for rituals.
With a heavy heart he went with the man.

The pandit did the shankhnaath.
The shanknaath echoed in the whole haveli.
As soon as it reached Bondita's ears,she slowly opened her eyes.
If anyone would have seen her then they might have ran away.
She stood up went towards the door ,opened it and went outside.

It was calmness before the storm.
