The clinical trial isn't going so well at the moment. We haven't saved a single patient but I still have hope that it will turn around. We are on our fifth patient today and I'm really hoping that this is our first save. Dad and I are talking to the patient when Meredith comes in.

Meredith: sorry I'm late.
Delilah: we were just getting started Mer.
Meredith: hi, I'm Dr. Grey.
Jonathan: Jonathan Evett. I've been treating Darren over at the VA. I'm so glad that you were able to get him into the clinical trial.
Mr. Covington: so, you're gonna inject a virus into my son's brain?
Darren: not in the brain dad, in the tumor,
Meredith: the theory is that the virus will attack the tumor and shrink it.
Delilah: but still, there is an enormous amount of risk involved.
Todd: that's okay. He survived two tours in Afghanistan. He's used to risk.

I see a handsome looking army man, roughly Darren's age, walk into the room and salutes to Jonathan and Darren's father.

Todd: sir. Mr. Covington.
Darren: Todd.
Todd: your dad called me.
Darren: what'd you do, call my whole platoon dad?
Mr. Covington: well, if you're gonna beat this, you need your friends by your side.

After we talk to Darren and his father, I walk off with Mer and meet up with Izzie, George and Lexie. We see the bulletin board and my eyes widen when I see a familiar looking face. It was Preston Burke. He won a Harper Avery. Oh no, Cristina isn't going to be happy about this.

Delilah: oh boy.
Meredith: has Cristina seen it?
Izzie: let's take it down.
Meredith: you can't take it down.
Izzie: take it down. Take it down. She never had to know.
Delilah: you have to take it down or else she's gonna hear about it.
Cristina: hear about what?

Izzie and I turn our backs towards the bulletin board and we face Cristina while trying our best to cover Preston Burke's face.

Cristina: Izzie. Move your hand.

Izzie moves but I don't.

Cristina: baby Shepherd, you're as light as a feather.

Cristina shoves me out of the way and looks at the board.

Cristina: good for him.

-later-

Mer and I are in the cafeteria and we go to sit with Alex and Lexie and I see George looking at us.

George: Meredith, Del, I'm gonna need your form.
Meredith: don't ask, don't tell George. Forms are stupid.
George: yeah, I'm still gonna need it. Pen?
Delilah: what form?
Alex: sex police.
Delilah: I don't need one because unlike you morons, I haven't slept with anyone in this hospital.

I see Rose approach George.

Rose: I... I, um... think I'll need one of those after all.
George: what? Why?

Rose awkwardly takes a paper and signs it then runs off.

Lexie: oh god, I'm so sorry.
George: do you want me to get Cristina?
Meredith: Derek is with Rose, and I'm okay that Derek is with Rose.
George: get Cristina, get her form.
Lexie: you don't want to be near Cristina right now.
Meredith: is she crying?
Lexie: no.
Delilah: is she staring straight ahead being super scary quiet?
Lexie: she's singing.
Delilah: uh oh. That can't be good.

I grab Mer's hand and we bolt to the morgue where Lexie told us she was. And sure enough, we found her singing Like A Virgin while suturing a body cadaver.

Meredith: stop singing!
Delilah: you're gonna win your own Harper Avery award.

Cristina ignored us as she sang over us.
