SO NOW HERE WE are: the present. the present in the timeline that karl felt like he fixed. well.. not just felt. knew he fixed. over the past few years, a lot of things have been accomplished.
for a while, everyone stayed at eret's house, tommy and tubbo visiting most of the time to have big sleepovers. all of you even traveled around neighboring kingdoms, going to metropolises to see tourist attractions and unique showcases of fire and sword eating. random but fascinating to watch.
you got to experience different cultures at their finest, try foods that you never expected to try—and the best part about it all.. all of you felt closer. like a brand new family. tommy and tubbo felt truly loved, phil and techno being happy to see this after the last incident before wilbur was gone.
eret and quackity became an unlikely duo, their dynamic fitting together like two five year olds. ranboo surprisingly became closer to techno, the two of them staying inside to relax and catch the bookstores even on vacation. and of course, you and karl got even closer. by the end of vacation, you two officially announced your relationship, everyone celebrating and being happy for the two of you.
by the time you got home, you two wouldn't be off of each other, just giving each other cuddles and short kisses like they were necessities. to keep things short and sweet, both of you were beyond fortunate and euphoric to have one another, being able to call each other your own.
as much as everyone became attached to one another, there came a time where you all separated to do your own things. and it was quite surprising to see the outcomes play out: eret, techno, phil, tommy, and tubbo stayed behind in where they were—whatever was considered greater dream smp. however, that wasn't the shocking part. the shocking part was seeing how political history unfolded further.. seeing it repeat itself.
karl and quackity ended up building their own kingdoms. after the dismantlement of manberg, everyone yearned for different places, different dreams and desires. manberg became a desolate place, just simple, plain land that was part of dream smp with no particular government. i mean.. you could call it an anarchy if you wanted. this wasn't necessarily a negative thing though.
manberg became the place that started solving the homelessness issues within each kingdoms, political authorities gathering together to provide free shelters and food donations in manberg for the people that gathered there to house themselves, and talk to others who were in similar situations, all free of charge. that is why elites became almost bored. they donated their houses for lower classes and moved out, looking for neighboring kingdoms that would house a rich neighborhood, matching their lifestyles—aka royalty suburban or bustling city areas.
that's when karl and quackity adopted their own pieces of land, deciding to build it up into an entire civilization for all to live. karl's kingdom was called kinoko kingdom. it started as buying acres of land to build certain mushroom themed buildings, and to own a farm and bookstore for karl, and a florist shop and flower field for you. then it turned into a whole nation, building an admirable amount of japanese architecture from kirizuma (gabled roof), yosemune (hipped roof), irimoya (hip-and-gable roof), and hogyo (square pyramidal roof) [these are real things btw]. there was also some japanese cherry blossom trees planted around, making the aesthetic palette of kinoko kingdom bind together.
honestly, you were proud of him for becoming a president. you were quite nervous as you've never been in a high position before. you were used to being in the working class, lucky to hang around elites and aristocrats. nevertheless, you were glad to accompany karl as his s.o. during all his political dealings.
in kinoko kingdom, you spent every night with karl, sometimes going out on the roof to stargaze together, then have picnics in the morning. you shared so many intimate moments with him, and he'd always make sure you were treated like royalty, being showered with more gifts the wealthier karl became. you also found it sweet how some of the statues or landmarks within the kingdom were named after you, or inside jokes you and karl shared.
aside from kinoko kingdom, now that you were able to travel, you went back to k/n with karl. you were delighted to see karl interact with pops and parker, your family easily warming up to his personality. pops was really accepting of him, and parker loved hanging out with him even more. at this point, karl was practically taking your place being the babysitter of your younger brother [have y'all seen those photos of karl with babies?? ughhhh🥺].
overall, life was looking up. you resided in kinoko kingdom with your boyfriend, you were able to visit pops and parker, and you still kept up your gardening job well. it was everything you least expected, but could never ask for anything more than what felt like heaven.
