Lapped in a foreboding colour of black, a small pillar of smooth light was all Taehyun could see. It was flowing down from the right corner, from the sky and dragging the boy's feet towards the only source of luminance with hope glinting in his watery eyes. He didn't even know that he was panting so hard, nor that so much sweat was dripping down his skin, because the only thing he could feel was the fire. He was feeling like he was burning from the inside and there were weird, painful sensations running through his bones and muscles, making him want to scream at the top of his lungs, but what was strange was that he wasn't able to hear the beating of his own heart.
Was he dead?
No way.
Taehyun was running, rushing to the light with desperation billowing from his exhausted body, but no matter how hard he tried, he still wasn't able to reach it. The faster he was running, the further that light was travelling from him and finally, Taehyun stopped to catch his breath, bending his body to place his palms on his knees.
He didn't know how many minutes passed like that, one, two, three or more, but as soon as he tried to keep running towards the light, suddenly the entire environment changed and he saw himself back in the past.
Taehyun stopped and watched himself from afar marching to the building engulfed in deadly flames, his steps slow and steady. His younger self seemed entranced, out of that world as he took steps towards the premise, tiny droplets of sweat covering his forehead, slipping down his temples and down his neck.
Taehyun's eyes then darted towards the figure behind his younger self, a boy who was dressed in black and had a hoodie over his head. He was holding a gun at his side, his hand clutching the handle tightly while his dark eyes were locked to the back of the boy in front of him, concern and fear swimming behind them.
Taehyun's breath hitched in his throat when he realised that the boy was no one other than Beomgyu.
"Don't go there!", Beomgyu called out in desperation, but Taehyun that was already so close to the burning building, didn't stop, as if he hadn't heard him at all.
The red-haired male who was watching them from afar quickly got behind one tree, so neither of them would manage to notice him as he kept observing them secretly. Something was wrong with that scene. It was the place where Taehyun went almost two months ago to meet the director, but instead, he got attacked and they tried to burn him in the fire. The problem was that now everything was happening differently. The building was already set on fire and Taehyun was still going towards it. And then there was Beomgyu, yelling nonstop, his index finger dangerously hovering over the trigger.
"Taehyun!"
But Taehyun didn't stop either now, and the one who was hiding behind the building, gasped loudly when he saw Beomgyu's eyes turning flaming red, arm raising up in the air to point his gun at Taehyun, causing him to stop in the door frame as an inhuman growl escaped younger's lips, "I said don't go there", Beomgyu said in a different, demonic voice, eyes still glowing red and Taehyun didn't even have time to turn around when the younger suddenly pulled the trigger and a menacing shout of the gunshot pierced the male's ears.
The detective suddenly felt a sharp, stabbing pain in his chest, his body freezing in his place.
"It's wrong", he thought, knowing the bullet was supposed to hit his younger self, but he was the one bleeding violently instead, blood dripping down his white shirt like unstoppable tears of agony.
He wanted to open his mouth and scream, but he got too occupied by shock when the environment changed around him again all at once and he found himself back in utter darkness with a small light coming from the sky.
