Part 2: chapter 51

One day earlier

The work in the department was much as always. Solar hadn't even been able to rest for a minute during the entire day. After the case of a Seoul hospital got announced as unsolved (because the procurator insisted on it) Solar was given a new case about a new murder in one suburb of Seoul and she was investigating it with a new partner. Well, she wasn't quite fond of her new partner. The girl, named Wheein, was very annoying and liked to nose into others' businesses. It was hard to even stay in one office with her during the whole day let alone investigate a murder with her, however, it wasn't like Solar had any other way. Wheein was a good investigator after all and Solar was having to just deal with her.

She was alone in the office at the moment since Hajoon was outside smoking. She was observing the photographs from the crime scene when her cell phone suddenly rang. It was an unknown number, which surprised her a bit, but she answered the phone anyways and rested it against her ear.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Solar. It's me", her eyes went wide when she heard Taehyun's voice. She hadn't spoken to the male since he left the department. She tried to contact him, but Taehyun wasn't answering her calls.

"Taehyun?"

"How are you doing?", the male asked and Solar slowly stood up from her office chair to walk into the office instead.

"Good. What about you? I've been trying to contact you"

"Sorry. I've been really busy recently"

"Why?", she asked in concern, "Is everything alright? You know, if you ever need my help, I'm always ready to-"

"That's why I'm calling you", Taehyun cut her off, causing curiosity to arise in Solar's eyes, "I need your help"

"Okay", she nodded, "What is it?"

"I need you to go to the Independence Gate and check everything you see there. There must be a small building with an elevator inside it. It will lead under the ground. There will be different rooms and surveillance cameras in each one of them. I'm not really sure how you must manage to open the doors of those rooms, but you need to find the place where the computers must be. You must see the recordings of surveillance cameras in them, of 11 July"

Solar tried to catch and analyze Taehyun's every word, her expression thoughtful and concentrated with a serious look in her eyes, "Okay, but why Independence Gate out of all places? What do you have to do with that place? Are you in trouble?"

"Don't worry. I will send you detailed information by email, but... I need you to do me another favour as well"

A few seconds of silence settled in, then Solar asked in a curious and concerned tone, "Tell me about it"

"You should see the Prime Minister", Taehyun said and Solar widened her eyes in shock, "And take an interview from him about the conspiracy in the government "

"CONSPIRACY?", Solar yelled in a terrified voice.

"Hey, be quiet", Taehyun warned, "We don't need anyone else to know about that. As I already said I will send you more details later. I need you to go to the Independence Gate tonight because it's very important"

"Okay", Solar said in an agitated tone, breathing a bit heavily, "I will. I will do anything I can for you"

"But I need you to stay unnoticeable "

Solar tucked her phone into her pocket after the conversation was over, rushing to her desk with anxiety confusing her mind. That's when the door of the office cracked open, revealing Wheein, who had drawn her lips in a thin line and was looking at Solar with an intrigued gaze.
