Part 2: chapter 55

Everyone had gathered together and waited at the hidden place, under the night sky. All of them were awfully nervous and Yeonjun couldn't stop pacing around with a troubled and anxious expression. Their eyes soon landed on Kai, who ran to them with slight pants, holding a binocular in his hand.

"Situation seems normal inside, but a couple of people left their work with troubled faces and headed somewhere"

Yeonjun had no idea what to think about the boy's words. Taehyun could be in trouble, but wouldn't he contact them if he needed their help?

The phone ring interrupted his thoughts. Yeonjun got a bit nervous when he read Jungkook's name on it, "Yeonjun, Sungjin left the place. I think he's heading there"

Their hearts started beating heavily, cold sweats attacking their skins, "Can't you prevent him?", Yeonjun asked hopefully, "We aren't done yet"

"I'll try to"

Jungkook quickly hung the rifle on his shoulder with a strap and swiftly crawled down the building, seating himself inside the car. He immediately headed towards the road which led to Taejongdae, driving at the highest speed to spot Sungjin's car and somehow put an obstacle in his path. He didn't even bother to stop at red lights, so he managed to find Sungjin's car in a short period. The latter was also driving at high speed, seemed like he was aware of the situation in the research building.

"Fuck", he cursed under his breath and shifted the gear, his eyes glinting in determination as they were fixed on Sungjin's car.

Jungkook hit the back side of the vehicle with his car, making it jerk which caused Sungjin and another male to jolt forwards. "Who the fuck is that?", Sungjin yelled in anger, his fury growing dramatically when the bullet suddenly broke the back glass of his car.

Another male in the back passenger seat, who pretended to be Soobin earlier, quickly held the revolver, pulling down the window to push his upper body through the frame to aim the gun at the car which kept crashing into them. He pulled the trigger and the windshield of Jungkook's car broke, causing the male to curse and speed up.

The police sirens started blaring throughout the atmosphere, following the two cars which kept creating big chaos on the road. The cops ordered them to stop and park their cars, however, Jungkook and Sungjin kept bumping into each other with their cars instead and throwing bullets in each other's direction. Jungkook pointed his gun at the wheel of Sungjin's car and pulled the trigger, causing it to bust and Sungjin lost orientation immediately. His car swayed on the road as Sungjin tried hard to control it, however, soon he still crashed into the pillar, causing his vehicle to come to a halt with a loud bang immediately.

Sungjin hit his head on the steering wheel which caused him to receive a slight injury on his forehead, however, the male behind him seemed unconscious and Sungjin didn't have time to wake him up since the police cars were heading towards him while Jungkook followed the road to Taejongdae, satisfied by his work.

Sungjin got out of the car with slight pants and all guns of cops got immediately aimed at him, one of them saying, "Stop right where you are or we'll shoot"

Sungjin looked at them with furious eyes, knowing he couldn't attack them or the people would be in a panic. He gritted his teeth as he took a careful step backwards, but the cops got alarmed at once, gripping their guns tighter, "I said don't move!"

However, Sungjin wasn't obviously going to surrender to them, because he needed to get to Taejongdae as soon as possible and those poor bullets of the cops would cause no serious harm to him.

"HEY, STOP!", the officer shouted when Sungjin turned around and ran away in a blink of an eye, shocking everyone with his supernatural speed. They immediately ran after him, but Sungjin was no longer in their sight. It seemed like the ground had swallowed him.
