Part 2: chapter 50

Yeonjun stood in the bathroom at the sink, washing blood off his face with a brooding expression settled in his eyes. He took a look at the scars on his skin. They were deep. Even Yeonjun's abilities weren't able to cure them straightaway. Now it had been hours after Taehyun's outburst, but they were still there, imprinted on his face like a trace of a battle.

They had been looking for Taehyun everywhere, but still failed to find him. It felt like the male had evaporated in the air. It was Yeonjun who announced that it was better to go back home after hours of failed attempts, Taehyun may need some time for himself and he would eventually return to them, especially, after knowing that Soobin was in danger.

"They're still not healed?", Kai asked in worry after Yeonjun went back into the living room, where everyone had gathered, a few deep claw scars decorating his cheekbone.

Yeonjun shook his head, slowly walking towards the others, "Don't worry", he said in a low voice, "It's healing slowly"

A sigh was heard while Yeonjun's eyes darted to the window, hoping that Taehyun would be back. It was already getting evening. That day was coming to the end, leaving only two days for them to somehow make plans and save both Soobin and Taehyun, however, it would be almost impossible if Taehyun couldn't gain control over himself and it was concerning everyone in the house.

"What are we gonna do now?", Kai asked in frustration, crossing his arms as he leaned back against the chair, "Especially, if Taehyun hyung doesn't come back. We don't even know where he can be"

"He's here", Yeonjun said with sharp eyes which were still fixed on the yard through the window. A hint of hope brewed beneath his chest now that he was watching the red-haired male walk towards the house with a distressed and frustrated face.

The others stood up with excited faces at that and looked out of the window, the vision of Taehyun giving them hope. Soon the door cracked open and revealed the red-haired male with a bowed head, causing everyone's eyes to land on him.

"You haven't attacked anyone, have you?", was the first thing Yeonjun asked, however, since there was not any trace of blood either on Taehyun's clothes or on his hands, he could say that he hadn't done anything bad.

Taehyun slowly raised up his head and hesitantly darted his eyes to Yeonjun's ones. The latter could see a great amount of guilt and feeling of shame inside them, especially, after noticing scars on Yeonjun's face.

The redhaired male shook his head in a response to Yeonjun's question, avoiding his eyes since he had difficulty making eye contact with the male, "I-i'm sorry for my outburst in the morning", he spoke in an unsteady voice, wandering his eyes on the floor, "I should have controlled myself, b-but when I saw t-those memories, they did s-something to me", tears filled his eyes, his voice becoming more anxious as if he was on the verge of crying. It brought a sense of compassion into Yeonjun's heart, making his eyes soften, "How could I remember them if they were e-erased? H-how is that possible?"

It was actually possible. The demon had been around Taehyun ever since he was brought back to life from death and it had seen everything, even those things Taehyun didn't remember.

"The demon made you remember"

Taehyun's heart skipped a beat at the sudden confession, leaving him dumbstruck at his place. He immediately returned his wide eyes to Yeonjun's ones, his mouth agape, "A demon?", he asked in shock, the muscles of his heart tightening harshly even at the idea of a demon actually managing to invade him.

"Don't panic, okay?", Yeonjun tried to assure, knowing Taehyun could become uncontrollable again if he started to panic, "It's not as bad as you think. The demon is just inside you, but it has no power over you if you-", Taehyun looked at him with a questioning gaze at that, his eyes still terrified. Yeonjun looked down, feeling a hint of guilt that he hadn't managed to make the boy's demon return to hell, "If you don't get irritated and angered", he said, hesitantly returning his eyes to Taehyun's ones, "Your body is defenceless against the demon when you are in a state of rage", he saw panic growing in Taehyun's eyes, so he quickly added, "But if you become angry it doesn't mean that the demon will possess you immediately. It j-just may try to assure you to do bad things, but it won't manage to possess you"
