Arc 4: Chapter 6

"I'm here, Y/n." A soft whisper landed in your left ear. Two arms captured you from behind as if it was telling you that you won't escape.

You looked up and met two dark violet orbs.

"James?" You gasped.

He dotingly smiled at you. He proceeded to hold your hand and run.

You don't know why but at that moment, fragments of memories filled your mind.

Constant bullying, constant persistency, constant threats.

James Wilson.

He was the other bully whose existence you erased the moment you fell from the rooftop in middle school.

You remembered it wrong.

Carter wasn't the one whom that female student (who pushed you from the rooftop) was crushing on. It was James.

Aside from Carter, Alex and Julian... you totally forgot that there was James.

The four of them were birds of a feather. What made him like this? What's with the change of attitude?

"Let go please." You muttered.

He let go of your hand just like you said.

"Are you alright, Y/n?" He carressed your cheek.

"Who are you?" You straightforwardly asked. You don't like beating around the bush. You were a direct person.

"Y/n?" James was surprised of your question.

"Were you also my bully in middle school? Why are you acting close with me? Are you here to threaten me again?" You restrained your trembling hand.

James gripped your wrists tightly.

"You remembered?"

He held your hand and kissed your fingers one by one as if it was a precious gem.

"Why are you doing this?"

Confusion. You were confused.

"I'm sorry I treated you that way Y/n. It was the only method for me to get close to you. I've always liked you since middle school til now."

Was he perhaps stalking you?

"I-I'll get going first." You freed your hands from him and started walking.

It was lucky enough that James didn't follow you and Julian wasn't looking for you. For now, you needed to be alone.

Everything was starting to get creepy.

Stupid.

You walked back home to your old apartment. But there's a post in front of your door that the apartment is vacant.

You keep on forgetting things today.

You forgot that you actually signed a contract saying that you'll stay at Carter's premises starting yesterday.

And now, you had nowhere to go except going back to his house.

*BEEP* *BEEP*

A car honked the horn below. Your took a peek at the car and it was the one you rode when you went to school.

It was Carter's... car.

How the hell did he find you? Did he place a bug on you or something? You immediately checked your clothes if there was a bug.

The driver went out and walked towards you.

"Hello Ms. Y/n, I'm Lyle. Young master told me to bring you back." His smile formed crescent eyes.

"...I see."

He stared at you for quite a while and laughed. "Don't worry Ms. Y/n. My young master didn't place any bug on you."

How did he know?

"Shall we?" He escorted you.

You went inside the car and sat uncomfortably. You wondered what will happen to you once you face Carter.

A slap? A punch in the face?

Or something worse.

Whatever it is, it sure made your heart fill wih fear.
