"Dad we came to talk to you."

"There is nothing to talk about Leilani, you heard what I said."

"Mr. Fatu may I-"

"You can get out. You are a talented wrestler Colby but you will not be with my daughter."

"Solofa!" My mother said slamming down her spoon. "Let them speak." Dad looked at her but kept his mouth shut and walked to the living room. I looked back gratefully at my mother.

"Thank you."

"Go, see if that stubborn husband of mine will listen now."

"Thank you Mrs. Fatu." Colby said taking my hand. My dad was sitting in the chair he always used and I saw on the couch with Colby, my hand in his. Jon and Josh were on the loveseat, Jeremiah on the arm of the loveseat, Joe sat next to me on the couch and Sefa was leaning against the wall. "Mr. Fatu I just want you to know that I am sorry for the way your daughter and I went about our relationship. It wasn't very typical but this conversation should have happened a while ago. I love your daughter very much."

"I understand you may love her but I absolutely do not approve of this. You are a nice kid but this cannot and will not continue."

"Dad, I love him. I know you don't like it but I do."

"Sir with all due respect she's the love of my life and you are more than entitled to your opinion but that won't change my feelings towards her."

"Dad I am being with him regardless of your approval. Did I expect to fall in love with him, no. Did I? Head over feet and I don't regret a second of it. The only thing I regret is keeping it from my brothers."

"Aye I got a question." I looked over at Sefa as he spoke "You don't approve of anyone any of us have fell for but you don't really say shit but to her. Hell all of us are married to beautiful black women, if Leilani is happy and as long as he treats her right why the hell is this even a conversation. All that should matter is her happiness."

"Thanks Sefa." He looked at me nodding.

"You will go against your family, your elders?"

"The elders don't mind him actually." Joe said speaking up. "Uncle Afa and dad, they are fine with it as long as she is happy. The only person upset is you."

"Because he wants her with Jason." Sefa said

"Iosefa." Dad said warning him.

"What I'm right and everyone in this room knows it. To you he was perfect for her, hell they was married. He was Samoan that's why you approved. The only wedding of any of your kids you attended was her wedding to Jason, why because when they married each other she was marrying a Samoan where as the rest of us didn't. You bailed on Jon the day before he married Trin, Josh he's been with Tekicia since high school and you didn't go to his either. Dad you do get Jason cheated on her and put his hands on her right? She is your only daughter how are you ok with that?"

"Look Sefa people make mistakes, something Jason has admitted to, marriage are vows to not take lightly and your sister made those with him. Marriage is not easy and sometimes it is very hard and bad things happen-"

"I would never put my hands on my wife no matter what was going on." Jon said speaking. "And I damn sure would never cheat. You wanna talk about Lani not living to her vows but what about Jason. He vowed to love and cherish her but stepped out who knows how many times then when she called his ass on it he hit her. You didn't see her that night I did! Josh did! Uncle Eki did! Her lip was split dad and her eye was black and blue. Lani is 5'8 max and Jase is fucking 6'5 and damn near 300 pounds of muscle, ain't no way that shit is ok."
