I was outside with Joe, the twins and Jayla's other two brothers. They were standing by a couple huge grills talking. They had on what looked like skirts but I knew they weren't. Sefa tied one on his waist. Looking at the grill I saw different stuff on it including chicken.
"Is that the chicken that has that pineapple soy sauce and sugar marinade?" I asked. They all stopped looking at me.
"How you know what is in this?" Jon asked
"Lei made it one night, she made that and some kind of pineapple pie."
"Paifala." They looked between each other a bit shocked.
"Oh she is definitely feeling him." I looked at Joe who chuckled.
"Leilani don't just cook Samoan food for just anybody."
""So did you like it?" Josh asked
"Yeah, ok can I ask something?"
"Sure."
"What are you guys wearing?" They started laughing and I felt stupid.
"Ya'll he ain't used to this, he's a midwestern small town kid." Joe said "It's called a lavalava. It's traditional, usually cookouts and stuff we are always wearing them. Lani, either has hers on or has a dress on kind of like auntie Talisua."
"Oh hell no what the fuck." Jon said angrily as he looked up. Turning around I saw what or rather who he was talking about. Lei's ex-husband was here.
