×~ Getting to Know Each Other ~×

|\ Trigger Warning \\
This chapter contains mentions of blood.

I couldn't help but groan as I brought my hands up to my head and rubbed my eyes. What the hell happened? I don't remember going to sleep. God my head's killing me.

"Oh, hey Ranboo, you're awake," A voice greeted me kindly. I took my hands off of my face and finally opened my eyes, "You had me worried there," The person who was talking sat right in front of me; their tone was laced with a sarcastic venom but they didn't seem all that angry or upset. "Do you think you could warn me before you go passing out like that again, I thought you died there for a moment." What little venom that had been in their voice was replaced by a sloppy yet friendly smile stretching across their face.

"I'm sorry," I sputtered out instinctively, barely even noticing I said anything. The person I was talking to chuckled for a moment revealing a set of surprisingly sharp teeth for what looked to be a goat hybrid.

"You're fine Ranboo, I don't blame you, that was pretty gross," they fell into an open mouth grin and looked at me with tired eyes, eyes that haven't gotten a proper rest in a while. Their eyes were a dull shade of blue or grey, I couldn't really tell; they were pretty but looking at them made me want to tear someone's throat out and that scared me so I decided to start staring at their mouth instead; their warm smile was much less scary to look at, the only thing that tainted it was a large, messy, jagged scar that ran up the left side of their face and down their neck. I'm surprised that I didn't notice it sooner seeing as it was so prominent on their face, but then again I've always been bad at noticing things like that. It took me almost a week to notice that Techno was heavily scarred and even longer to notice how much jewellery they wore. It just felt like those things were natural for them to have like it would be more noticeable if Technoblade had features that stood out less. Although this person's scar stuck out a bit thanks to the softness of the rest of their appearance.

My thoughts about their scar soon shifted to annoyance about how bad my memory was. Why couldn't I remember their name? I know it's not that complicated but I'm still struggling to remember it and it's bugging me.

"Why are you staring at me like that, did 'ya just now notice my teeth?" They turned their gaze away from me and started staring off into the distance, "Or are you staring at my scar?"

"What! No, no, well I mean yes, I just didn't want to look you in the eyes," I stuttered and squeaked, "I didn't mean to stare at you like that."

"You're fine, you're fine," They soothed, "Just kind of reminded me of how I used to get bullied for how sharp my teeth are."

"Oh my god I'm so sorry," I apologized; I felt terrible but they just laughed and brought their gaze back to me.

"Don't be, Tommy ended up beating... or, well, trying to beat the shit out of the guys that said that stuff," They beamed, "It didn't go too well seeing as it was a 4v1 but it's the thought that counts." They laughed again, "Once I heard Tommy needed to go to the hospital to get stitches because of the whole situation I decided to talk to him and we've been best friends ever since."

"Oh, well that's nice, I'm glad you guys are close," I smiled as a few memories of me and what's their faces walking together faded back into my mind. I should probably ask for their name, it'd be really awkward if they knew my name but I didn't know theirs. But then again asking them for their name is also going to be awkward. Ugh, this is stupid, just ask them, it's not like they're going to be mad at you for not remembering their name. I sighed to try and calm my nerves.

"Hey um, what's your name again," I hesitated, "I kind of forgot."

"Oh, it's Tubbo," Tubbo smiled again with a small laugh, "Try to remember it this time."

"I make no promises," I said in a small voice.

"Just promise to try," Tubbo cocked their head as they spoke.

"I will, I will don't worry," I reassured, sounding more confident than before.

"Right, welp, enough with the chit chat! We have stuff we need to do before nightfall," They said in a bubbly tone.

"Oh uh, yeah," I paused, "How long was I passed out?"

"Not too long, only a couple minutes," Tubbo shifted their weight to the side and looked behind the tree I was propped up against, "I dragged you away from the deer because I didn't think you would want to see that as soon as you woke up." I shuddered as I remembered the dead deer and the terrible gurgling sounds it made as it died.

"Well, thanks for that," I chuckled shakily, "I probably would've passed out again if I saw all that blood."

"Yeah, probably," Tubbo grunted as they stood up, "Do you think we should look for a warmer place to spend the night or should we just stay here?"

"We should probably find somewhere nicer to sleep," I spoke as I stood up next to Tubbo, "Although the deer might be a pain to deal with."

"Probably," Tubbo brought their right arm behind their head and stretched, "I wish the snow would stop so we could just leave it here while we looked for a place to stay."

"Yeah, me too," I shrugged, "I just hope we can find something nearby."

"Yeah, that'd be nice," Tubbo started to make their way over to the deer as I followed close behind. As soon as the deer came into view I felt myself become queazy and light-headed; there was too much blood. "Hey Ranboo, are you doing alright? you don't look so good."

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine I just feel a little sick," I assured I as looked away from the bloody mess in front of me. Tubbo sighed and closed the distance between us before placing a hand on my upper arm.

"If you can't handle looking at the deer you can go and look for a warmer place to spend the night nearby while I try and figure out how to butcher it," Tubbo offered sympathetically.

"Okay, that sounds good," I nodded as I quickly turned around and started lightly jogging away from Tubbo.

1101 Words: This chapter would have come out sooner but I got a bad case of writer's block so I didn't have any motivation but I did do some drawing in that time and got Tubbo's and Ranboo's character designs down for the next fic I plan on writing although I don't really like the background on Ranboo's.
