×~ Traveling and Concerning Conversations ~×

I slowly woke up, my memory book sitting patiently next to me. I sat up and blinked the sleep out of my eyes. I glanced back over at the journal before grabbing it and holding it close. I came so close to losing it yesterday. It's not going to leave my hands until I can put it somewhere safe. Like my bag, but that might still have blood in it. I felt myself become a little queasy at the thought. Hopefully, someone will be able to clean it, although I don't want to be rude about it.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I noticed the low mumbles of a quiet conversation. I crawled a little closer to the tent entrance and unzipped it just enough to be able to see outside. I noticed Techno talking to someone with large black wings. What was their name again? I ignored this question I asked myself when I noticed the food sitting by the campfire. The person with wings was doing something with it.

As if they could tell I was looking at them they snapped their head to look at me. I jumped at this sudden movement and slid further back into the tent. I heard laughter chime out from the direction of the campfire and I felt myself blush with embarrassment. I crawled back to the entrance and unzipped it more. I finally got a good view of the campsite. Snow was lightly drifting down from the sky around it and the campsite itself was dusted in a light layer of snow. The only area which was free from the graceful white powder was a small stretch of land surrounding the campfire.

The blonde had finally stopped laughing, "C'mon out here, you're probably hungry and there's plenty to go around," They said as they gestured towards the food they were messing with. I looked down at the snow-covered ground.

"No thanks, I'm good," I mumbled. I don't mind walking across snow but sitting on it and giving it time to melt is another thing.

"You sure?" The blonde asked, tilting their head to the side like a bird as they did so. Before I could answer Techno got up and grabbed something that was sitting next to their bag. They started walking my way and handed me what they grabbed.

"Sorry I didn't give these to you earlier, I got distracted by, you know," When they said the last part they gestured towards my face.

"My shoes!" I yelled as I looked back up at Techno with a smile stretched across my face. "Sorry," I whispered as soon as I realized how loud I was. I quickly looked down at them and slipped them on.

"You're fine," Techno laughed before walking over to where they had been before and sitting down. I unzipped the tent completely and followed shortly after them only just realizing how cold the crisp night air was.

"I thought you didn't want to come out here," The blonde mused.

"That was before I got my shoes back," I mumbled and they shrugged as they brought their attention back to what they were doing. "Tech, is the ground damp?" I asked, sounding a little louder than I did before while I crouched down to an almost sitting position.

"Eh, kinda," Techno brought their hands up to the clasp that kept their cape on and undid it before handing it to me, "You can sit on this."

I graciously accepted it with a smile, "Thank you." The piglin nodded as I gently placed the red cape on the ground and sat on it. I stared at the campfire, unsure of what to say now that I was out here. I was tempted to ask about the food but I didn't want to bother... what was their name again? It feels like it should start with an f.

"Hey, Ranboo," The blonde called and I looked up at them, "Here, I know you're hungry," They offered me a baked potato with some small bits of meat on it and a fork. I nodded and took it from them after gingerly placing my memory book on my lap. "Sorry there's only bacon on it, we started running low on supplies a while ago."
