×~ Ranboo's POV ~×

The uneasy feeling of being watched still hadn't left me from when I woke up, but I did my best to ignore it. What else could I do? I stared blankly at the sunrise: the beautiful colours did nothing to ease the dread-filled exhaustion that filled my bones. The image of Tubbo's distorted, bloody body had managed to dull slightly, yet it still filled me with dread.

My hand mindlessly drifted toward my face, my cheek stinging when it grazed against my burnt skin. I waited a moment before taking my hand away. Dabs of violet blood were speckled across my fingers. A quick sigh escaped my mouth as I wiped the blood onto my shorts.

He's safer now that I'm gone.

The thought hurt, but it was true.

I wonder if he misses me.

Probably not.

It'd be nice if he did though.

I shook the thoughts from my head as I slid out of my sleeping bag, and off the branch I had slept on, careful to place my feet on the branch just below it. A shudder echoed through my body when I was surrounded by the sudden cold. I carefully began making my way down with my sleeping bag thrown half-hazardly across my shoulder.

The frosty grass, which covered the ground, crunched softly under my weight. I reached up to where I had hung my bags and pulled them to the ground before quickly putting away my sleeping bag and pulling out some bread. Within a few moments, my bags were all in their proper places and my cloak was securely on my shoulders.

I slowly began munching on my bread as I walked, grateful that I didn't have to look for breakfast. A dull dread hit my stomach as the feeling of unseen eyes following me grew. I finished my bread and began glancing around.

My breath hitched and my body froze when my eyes landed on a familiar pink silhouette.

How did he find me?

I had to fight the urge to run to Techno and sob into his arms.

"Ranboo!" He let out a dull call, "Come back, please. Let's talk." Tears pricked the corners of my eye as I turned and ran in the opposite direction.

"Ranboo!" He called again, much louder than before.

"Ranboo, please!" Techno's voice faltered for a moment. "Just tell me what's wrong!"

Almost as if on cue my bag snagged and I fell with a sudden lurch. I slammed into the ground with a dull thud. Winded, and gasping for air, I barely registered the heavy set of footsteps approaching me.

"Hey, kid, are you alright?" A dull voice asked. I looked up and was greeted by Technoblade looming over me. My gaze quickly fell back down to the ground beneath me.

"I'm fine," I spat out, barely able to keep my voice from shaking.

He began to kneel beside me, and I took this as my sign to run. I stumbled back for a moment when my bag refused to move, being held in place by Technoblade. Without thinking, and with one swift motion I took off my cloak and slipped out of my bag. Somehow, this let me get away from him.

I don't know how long I ran for, but at some point, I managed to lose him. Tears started streaming down my face as I stumbled across some running water. Unsure of what else to do, I began walking along the edge of the small river.

There were some white lilies on the stone-covered river bank, still shimmering with the morning frost. My tears stopped for a moment as I bent down and plucked one from the ground. I took in my surroundings and noticed a small rock face just beside me. It was covered in various shrubbery and vines, but there was a small cave digging into the stone. A long sigh escaped my mouth as I ducked into it.
