×~ Blurred Memories ~×

I opened my eyes and was greeted by the familiar bustling of the packed city streets, while a sharp pain stabbed at my chest. My vision flickered between where I stood and the void, where I had just teleported from. Nausea began to creep into my stomach causing me to fall back onto a nearby wall for support. My vision blurred as it began to settle on the city stress in front of me.

I slid down the wall I was leaning against and let out a sigh of relief.

"How am I still alive?" I muttered to myself. The sharp pain in my chest, one of the many side effects I get from teleporting, began to fade ever so slightly. Although, it would take a while to dissipate completely. If mother realized that I didn't fall into the void she'll try to find me. I need to leave now, I don't have time to wait to feel better.

_______________

I walked down the city streets with no particular destination in mind. My body ached thanks to my teleportation. I only wanted to get away from my house. I soon came across a bridge that connected a few islands. I started making my way across it but stopped halfway through when my gaze landed on the void I was standing over.

I'm not sure how long I was standing there, enjoying the view, but I was snapped out of my trance when someone aggressively grabbed my wrist. Instinctively, I immediately started to pull away from their grasp. As soon as I looked back at whoever had grabbed me I started to try to get away even more.

"Peace, you don't need to run from me," Mother scolded, their aggressive tone sent shivers down my spine.

"Let me go!" I yelled without thinking. Realizing what I said, I decided to double down, "I don't know you!"

"Do not talk to your mother that way!" They yelled back, their grip on my wrist becoming impossibly tight. As soon as they started trying to drag me back to the house someone who had noticed the commotion got between us. Much to my relief, they forced mother to let me go. The two of them started shouting at each other, and I took that as my cue to get as far away from them as I could.

_______________

I was sprinting towards the king and queen's palace. Everything hurts. I can't stop. Mother saw me. They know me too well. My grip grew on my aching wrist in an attempt to soothe the pain it was in. It didn't work.

The hatred and fear I have for that creature knows no bounds. It's about time I finally did something about it. I shouldn't have listened to her for so long, it's my right to do this. She just doesn't want me to have any power. She'll pay for what she's done.

_______________

My gaze was locked on the void just outside of the window I sat next to. It was beautiful. Despite almost falling into it earlier today I couldn't bring myself to be scared of it.

I jumped as the door to the room I was in opened. My gaze turned to face whoever was walking in. My eyes widened as they fell upon the familiar figure of the queen. Their long black hair was tied off in a braid and they wore an elegant lilac dress with black and gold accents.

"Hello Peace," They greeted as they closed the door behind them. I couldn't help but grimace at the name.

I scrambled to my feet and bowed. "Hello your majesty," I stammered.

They let out a small chuckle, "There's no need for that darling, you may call me Vev." Their tone switched to a slightly more serious one, "As long as you're serious about your offer that is.
