Blood and violence are explicitly shown in this chapter. I have no clue what possessed me to write it the way I did. I'm sorry.

×~ Bloodied Dreams ~×

A gentle breeze lifted specks of snow onto my face, which were quick to melt and wake me up. I wiped off the remaining moisture as I sat up. Looking around where I sat, I quickly grew confused. I sat in a small clearing surrounded by untainted snow.

I slowly stood up and examined my surroundings further. Dark, unfamiliar trees surrounded me on every side. Panik began to fill me when I realized none of my bags were with me. My eyes darted around the forest more frantically until they fell on a pair of footprints leading away from me. Were those there before?

My eyes traced them to where they disappeared into the trees. I’m unsure what I expected to see, but it certainly wasn’t Tubbo’s familiar silhouette. Without thinking I began chasing after him. He ran and laughed while doing so. I only smiled and laughed along with him.

We ran together, playing a carefree game of cat and mouse for what couldn’t have been longer than half an hour. My worries left me and I barely noticed how the shadows grew starker or how the gentle breeze that had once rustled through my hair came to a halt, plunging the dark forest into silence.

Tubbo had disappeared behind some trees, causing me to lose sight of him completely. Even so, I still had his footprints to follow so I wasn’t all that worried. But as I continued forward the thick layer of snow that lay on the entirety of the forest began to falter. Patches of muddy brown began to show themselves and Tubbo’s footprints slowly became harder to make out. A subtle concern began to creep into my chest.

This was quick to falter when my feet led me to a strangely familiar clearing with Tubbo standing in the middle. I stopped at its edge and just stared at him for a moment, admiring him. Soon he looked back at me and smiled before reaching out one of his hands, beckoning me to come and take it. I ran forward and happily did so.

We danced together with the sound of silence as our music. It was familiar like we had done it before, yet something felt different. Something felt wrong. For a moment I grew worried, but relaxed when the memory of the gentle music that played the last time we were here came back to me.

Our dancing began to slow, and soon we were just holding each other. Our gazes were locked together. Tubbo slowly started bringing his face toward mine but suddenly stopped. For a moment I wondered why, but then I heard it.

Impossibly quick footsteps were making their way towards us. They were heavy and kept growing louder and louder. I didn’t have the chance to turn and run before Dream burst into the clearing. I could only watch as It dragged its claws across Tubbo’s back and through his neck. He didn’t even get to see what had struck him before his limp body fell to the ground.

His head landed nearly a meter away from where it should have.

Splatters of blood dashed across the snow, tainting it with a deep red. Dots of blood were speckled across my face. They were uncomfortably wet, but it didn’t burn.

My gaze fell to the limp body at my feet. A pool of blood had already begun to form, melting the snow as it grew. What remained of Tubbo was broken and distorted.

There was a faint gurgling like he was still trying to breathe. It almost sounded like he was still alive and writhing in agony, unable to move due to the damage done to him.

I slowly looked up into Dream’s eyes. It could have killed me if wanted to, but it didn’t. Its smile seemed to grow as it slowly tilted its head.

“I ᓭᒷᒷ ||𝙹⚍,” Its distorted voice raked my ears. I didn’t understand what it said, but I understood what it meant as the feeling of eyes digging into my skin began to overwhelm me.

I glanced around, trying to spot the invisible eyes staring at me. I couldn’t see anything, but I began to stumble backwards as the world around me started to melt away. My foot got caught on something and I fell.

My eyes snapped open as I choked in a sudden gasp of air. I was sitting in the same tree I had fallen asleep in. Blood wasn’t splattered across my face and Tubbo wasn’t dead. But the feeling of being watched remained. I wanted to run to Techno, I wanted him to tell me it would be okay, that he wouldn’t let anything like that happen.

My thoughts went back to what I saw in the dream. I didn’t want to think about it, but the violent image was still fresh in my mind. I tried to stop my breaths from quickening and I tried to hold back my tears, but in the end, the struggle was futile.

I began to sob.
