×~ Nostalgia ~×

A gentle breeze brushed through my hair. I looked up at the leafless branches above; snow still clung to them despite the wind. I stopped for a moment when I realized just how late it was. My eyes fell in the direction of the sun, which was covered by heavy clouds. There are only ten or so minutes until nightfall. I should start looking for somewhere to sleep soon.

As my eyes scanned the trees for a place with cover that was easy to get to, a sad sort of nostalgia began to fill me. I quickly pushed it away; I have other things I need to worry about much more.

My eyes lit up for a moment when I noticed an evergreen standing in the distance. It wasn’t too far away, but I began sprinting toward it anyway, just in case. It’s really only a matter of time until mobs start spawning, and I don’t want to risk a baby zombie riping out my other eye.

Soon I was looking up at its branches above, out of breath, and ready to sleep, despite how cold it was. I slipped off my bag and ducked into the branches; there was a gap next to the trunk that had very few needles that would be perfect to lay on. I grabbed my sleeping bag from my bag before I stepped up a couple of branches and swung the bag above my head and placed it on the tree.

After doing the same with my satchel I began climbing. When I was on the ground I noticed a group of branches that were incredibly close together but were fairly high up. I doubt I had ever slept that high before; hopefully, I don’t fall.

I placed the sleeping bag on the branches; it didn't fall when it was just sitting there by itself, which didn’t reassure me much, but it was something. Hesitantly, I climbed inside, knowing full well that this was a terrible idea. But, I’m not really in the mood to freeze, so I don’t have many other choices. I was going to zip up the sleeping bag but decided against it so I could more easily get out if need be.

A sigh escaped my mouth, causing a billowing stream of fog to be blown from my face. The sun was only moments away from setting; it was only a matter of time until mobs started spawning. I curled up closer to myself as I began to lightly shake.

The sad nostalgia I had been feeling before slowly began to come back; and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t push it away. I never realized just how much I enjoyed being around other people.  A tear began to fall down my face, which I quickly wiped away. I wish I could’ve stayed, but they’re probably happier now that I’m gone; especially Tommy, Philza, and Wilbur.

Hopefully, it warms up soon.
