×~ Gurgling ~×

A cold gentle breeze pushed a few locks of my hair over my eyes, partially obscuring my vision. I pulled them back into place after a few moments and shivered slightly. I continued to pay careful attention to the noises that filled the forest. I tried to pay extra attention to any noises that might indicate that we were near the animal but all I could hear was the gentle sound of trees creaking as the wind pushes them and the incredibly loud sound of the crunching coming from Tubbo and I's pair of footsteps.

I suddenly heard and quiet set of footsteps coming from up ahead; they must still quite be a bit away because I can't see it yet and the sounds it's making are almost too quiet to be heard. I stopped walking so I could hear it better I tugged on Tubbo's arm slightly so they would do the same. They turned around and looked at me with a confused expression plastered across their face. I quickly placed my index finger over my mouth to shush them then pointed at my ear than the animal tracks on the ground.

Tubbo continued to look confused and after a few moments they mouthed, "Do you hear it?" Only a faint wisp of air that sounded vaguely like what they were trying to say came out of their mouth. I quickly nodded and gestured in the vague direction the sound came from. The goat hybrid looked back in that direction for a few moments before looking back at me and shrugging. They had just started to turn back around to start walking again when the faint sound of a branch snapping echoed through the forest; Tubbo's head quickly darted in the direction the sound came from and just as quickly they turned their head to look back at me and made eye contact.

I nodded uncomfortably trying to get Tubbo to look away from me; thankfully that's just what they did. They started to take a few hesitant steps that were much quieter than the ones they were taking before, I started to follow them making sure my steps were also as quiet as possible. Tubbo soon started to quicken their pace but managed to remain as quiet as they were before. We soon started to approach a thicker part of the forest, trees were closer together and there was more mostly dead foliage everywhere.

At one point the tracks went under a particularly dense bit of brush, I have no idea how the animal that made them was able to get under there but I guess it managed because I can't see it. Once Tubbo got close to this bit of brush they quickly stopped and ducked down while gesturing for me to do the same. Once I did they pointed at something up ahead through the brush, I'm not quite sure what they were trying to draw my attention to but I didn't see anything up ahead besides the usual snow-covered forest.

Tubbo seemed to notice just how confused I was so they gestured towards the tracks. I guess they must see the animal. I looked back up where Tubbo had pointed before, this time looking for the animal that they saw and sure enough after a few more moments of looking, I saw a deer nibbling on a sweet berry bush. We finally found it, now all we have to do is kill it; I shuttered at the thought of seeing fresh blood, it always grossed me out.

How are we going to be able to kill that thing, we probably should have come up with a plan before we got this close to the deer. How are we even supposed to sneak up on it, all this snow will probably alert it of our presence before we can even get close to it. I looked over at Tubbo hoping that they would be able to give me any information that could help us; they started making vague hand gestures that I had no hope of understanding. It kind of looks like they want me to go over to the deer and do something, I have no idea what that something is but I'll do my best.

I carefully stood up and started walking around the dense shrubbery trying to make my way to the other side of the deer. I glanced back at Tubbo to double-check if this is what they want me to do. They didn't give any signs that I was doing something wrong so I turned back around and continued creeping forward, careful not to make any sound and cringing every time one of my feet hit the ground thinking that the deer must have noticed the loud noise I'm causing that time.

As I watched Ranboo advance forward I couldn't help but feel a sense of fear claw up my spine causing me to shutter. How can someone that big manage to make no noise while walking through snow? Maybe I'm just going deaf but I'm pretty sure he's not making any sound. I shake off the feeling as I turn my focus back to the deer; it hasn't moved much since I last looked at it. I wish I could get closer to it by myself but I have no chance of doing that with all this snow on the ground. So hopefully Ranboo understood what I was trying to tell him and he scares the deer back the way it came so I can kill it.

I could barely see through the thick brush but I noticed Ranboo on the other side of the deer stalking it like a predator waiting to pounce; I couldn't but feel glad that they were on my side. And then, just as the enderman placed another foot on the ground a snapping sound echoed through the forest startling me, Ranboo, and the deer whose head darted up to look directly at Ranboo. The Enderman took a step back as the deer moved slightly. C'mon Ranboo, what the hell are you doing, it's just a deer it won't hurt you.

I was tempted to just get up and yell at Ranboo when I noticed that he was taking another step back but I was given an answer as to why he was scared of the deer before his foot even touched the ground. It quickly darted forward as Ranboo turned around and started sprinting but he couldn't get far before he was tackled to the ground by the rouge animal. I quickly stood up and darted around the brush towards him.

"⎎⎍☊☍, ahhh!" I yelled as the deer rammed its horns against my back digging painfully into my skin and knocking me to the ground with a loud thud. I quickly turned back to face the deer as it started battering its hooves against me. "⋏⍜ ⋏⍜ ⋏⍜, ☌⟒⏁ ⍜⎎⎎ ⍜⎎ ⋔⟒, ⋏⍜, ⋏⍜ ⋏⍜ ⋏⍜!" I kicked at the thing a couple of times as I tried to back away from it but it didn't seem to care, it wants blood.

Just as it was about land a devastating blow onto my gut Tubbo came in out of nowhere and tackled the deer while shoving their hunting knife into the things throat producing a horrifyingly disgusting wet crunching tearing sound. I felt like I was going to vomit. The deer kicked off Tubbo with the last of its strength and started to try and run away but it was too late, Tubbo approached the barely alive deer and tore their knife out of its throat producing a similar sound to before.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse the gurgling started. The deer fell to the ground unable to breathe, drowning in its own blood, but in its futile attempts to get air into its lungs, it caused its blood to start gurgling. Every time it exhaled what little air it was able to get its blood bubbled like it was boiling and every time it was able to force in just a little bit of air it had to push it through its thick blood to get it to its lungs causing a popping gurgling gasp that I don't think I'll ever be able to forget.

"Hey Ranboo, are you alright?" Tubbo asked as I felt myself become lightheaded and shakey, "It must've hurt when that deer rammed into you like that." I couldn't take my eyes off the deer it had gone limp and it looks like it stopped breathing but I could still hear the gurgling, oh god the gurgling, it was stuck in my head. The thing itself was still bleeding; I didn't think that much blood could come out of one living thing. "Ranboo, you good?" I heard Tubbo plea, I wanted to answer but I couldn't bring myself to do much more than open my mouth and let out a single shakey sigh before the forest started to blur and all I could see was the sickly shade of dark crimson that flowed around the deer's lifeless corpse as I fell onto my side to weak to hold myself up anymore. I barely heard the snow crunch under me as everything faded to black.
