Chapter ThiryThree
Mya Brown
Mariah's Birthday - A Month Later

Life has been very weird these past few weeks. I have forced myself back into my little bubble where my only focus is my work and my kids. I mean, that's technically how it should be but I've shut my family out a little bit, once again. I won't say that I'm depressed, I'm just not really wanting to be bothered. I still have my personal sessions with Dr. Thompson to keep myself sane. It'll probably be a while before I have another session with Chris.

Speaking of Chris, we've really severed all ties with each other. We don't talk like at all, even got to the point where we blocked each other on social media. The first week it was hard but now, I'm going with the flow. I did ask Landon about him and he said he was okay and that his dad asks him the same questions about me.

I'm not going to pretend like I don't miss him. I miss him a lot but he asked for space so I'm going to give him that.

My phone rung next to me, I glanced over at it and it was Kayla FaceTiming me. I answered and picked up the phone. "Hello prego." I said. Kayla is so swollen but adorable. She's so excited about becoming a mommy.

"Hey boo, what are you doing?"

"Watching TV, what are you doing?"

"I am on my way to get my hair done for tonight."

"What's tonight?"

She gasped. Did I miss her baby shower. "Are you for real Mya?!"

"Oh my god Kayla, what's today?"

"Mariah's party and her fucking birthday Mya!"

"Shit!" I slapped my forehead. "How did I forget that? She's been texting me about it too."

"Girllllahhh, get your head out the clouds baby."

"Kayla my life is in shambles right now, I can't focus on much."

"It is not."

"It really is, I don't know how Mariah's birthday slipped my mind though. Guess I gotta get my lazy ass up and go shopping."

"Mmhm, and I'll take a gift for reminding you."

"Girl bye, just wait until you see this stroller and high chair I bought my nephew. Exclusive shit only baby."

"Don't have this little boy spoiled rotten, I don't have time."

"You already know that's happening. You see I spoiled Noah, that shit have Tim losing his damn mind."
