🇮🇳 CHAPTER FOUR~

The women's team were practicing on the field. It's been few weeks since the girls started on this new journey and they have their first series as a team, in less than a week.

Mahi bhai came and asked the girls to stand in a circle as they did.

"So as I have told all of you before, tomorrow you will play against the Indian Men's Cricket Team!", said Mahi bhai as the girls looked at one another he added, " BCCI didn't want to send the Senior team as they also have an important series ahead so a comparatively junior squad will face you tomorrow, you can call it India A team. But even in this team there is Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Prasidh Krishna and many such young talented players. Nonetheless this match is very important for all of you. Try to give it your best. Understood?"

"YES SIR!", the girls said together. Mahi bhai nodded his head and went away after telling them to continue practice.

Shalini came and sat beside Trishani in the dressing room after the practice and said , " Yaar sir pagal ho gaye hai kya? Hum kaise ladko ke sath khel sakte hain!"

"Jab unhone pehli baar bola tha maine socha aise hi mazak kar rahe hain. Lekin yeh toh serious nikle!" , said Mukti.

"Harenge, pakka harenge. Kaha men's team aur kaha hum. Unke India A se bhi harenge hi hum.", said Jasmine.

"Real life Chak De India karna chahte hain bhai!", said Shaktipriya and the girls giggled.

" Voh mentor hain hamare aur India ke sab se successful Captain bhi. Voh jo kuch bhi karenge hamare bhalai ke liye hi karenge. He told us to give our best and so we will do that. Harna jeetna toh waise bhi part of the game.", Trishani said while keeping her bats carefully into her cricket kit.

" Jab haar jaate hai na tab yahi sab bahane dhundne padhte hain! Vaise bhi Thakur tu toh tik payegi nahi men's team ke bowler ke samne toh tu yeh sab bol dena as excuse kal!", said Anshika and Sonarika chuckled.

"Iski chinta chor tu apni dekh! Mahi bhai ne bola hain matlab main toh dungi apni 100% baakiyon ka pata nahi!", Drishti said and went out of the dressing room and Richa followed her as well.

Trishani nodded her head and went out as well as Anshika chuckled to herself whole thinking ," Best toh tab doge tum sab jab main tum logo ko khelne dungi! I'll score the highest and Mahi bhai will praise me. Dekhte reh jaana sab!"

It was the day of the match and Anshika has lost the toss to Shubman who was captaining a young Team India Men side and was send off to bat first.

Mahi bhai gathered the girls team in the dressing room and said, "don't think of this as a men vs women match. They are your opponent and you have to play against them, that's it! Just because they are men players doesn't mean they are superior to you. Go give it your best and we will see what happens."

The girls listened to him but it seemed like they didn't believed his words truly, except for few. Trishani changed into her cricket gears quickly as she was to open with Anshika. Mahi bhai came and told her about few weak points that the men's bowlers had.

The game started and Shubman opened his bowling attack with the leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi. Trishani knew Anshika had problem playing leg spinners so she went to her and said, "dekh leg spinner laa rahe hain tu mujhe strike de main samhal leti hu isse."

"Mujhe matt shikha tu. Captain main hoon tu nahi, jaa jake non strikers end pe khadi ho jaa!", Anshika said.

Trishani murmured something to herself and went to stand at the non strikers. Anshika faced the first ball of Ravi and it almost touched the stump as the boys shouted. Trishani glared at Anshika who totally ignored her.
