Chapter 70: "Frontal Assault"

Funtime Freddy's P.O.V

"Alright. The two of you ready?" I said turning to look at everyone. "Ready," responded Foxy. "Like we have a choice?" responded Helpy. "What about you Duality?" I asked. "You already know the answer," he responded. "Freddy here. Is everyone in position?" I asked activating the Communicator. 

"Me and Michael are in position," responded Mangle on the Communicator.

"Me and Charlie are also in position," responded Bonnie on the Communicator as well.

"Bon Bon. Anything on your end?" I asked on the Communicator. 

"Fine here. You just worry about yourself and the others," spoke Bon Bon on the Communicator. 

"I will," I responded, glad to hear him showing concern for us once again. "Alright! All teams begin Phase One and attack!"

The three of us ran out the shadows from between the two buildings we were hiding at, and out into the street as we ran straight for the barricade where the checkpoint was. The endoskeletons did not hesitate to deactivate their disguises the moment they saw us, exposing their metal and naked skeleton bodies. They immediately fired their lasers at us as I put up a Shadow Shield while running at them to block their attacks, before entering the Shadow Dimension. I hopped over the barricades and returned to the normal world and went for the nearest endoskeleton, ready to strike him down with a punch. However the one I was going for immediately turned to look at me and guarded himself with his arms. Suddenly a purple light and energy started to form at his chest, as I knew it would be best to duck. Right as I evaded and dropped on the ground a huge powerful blast flew past me and landed on the ground, cracking the road. "These guys have the Resurrection Power! They won't be easy to take down!" I called out. "Of course they do!" exclaimed Helpy as he shot a Shadow Beam at one of the endoskeletons, which dodged his attack of course. Two of the endoskeletons focused their attention on me as they aimed their arms at me and shot multiple Shadow Beams at me. I entered the Shadow Dimension to avoid their attacks and ran on over to where they were and exited the dimension, transferring all my energy into my punch as I went for the nearest endoskeleton. The one I was going for backed up to avoid my attack as the other one near it shot a couple lasers at me. I rolled to the side to avoid the attacks, as they wouldn't let up. "I did a thorough scan on the endoskeletons design. A lot of thought went into them, I'll say that," spoke Duality. "Good to know. Now how about some information that can actually help us, if you don't mind sharing," I responded blocking more of the endoskeletons attacks. "I suggest disarming both arms as the right arm has a laser and the left arm has a retractable blade. Then go for their core where the Resurrection Power is in the center, though be warned once disrupted the endoskeleton will explode as well as the surrounding area. You do not want to be near it when that happens," continued Duality. "Alright! Got it!" I responded as Helpy ran over to where I was and attempted to strike one of the endoskeletons that was focused on me. "Wait, these guys have blades?!" he exclaimed. As if right on queue a blade appeared on the endoskeletons left arm as it attempted to slash Helpy, who dodged barely by rolling over. "Really should've kept your mouth shut!" I exclaimed charging at the same endoskeleton that had gone for Helpy. The endoskeleton noticed me as it went in to jab his blade at me, however I dodged to the side and grabbed hold of his blade, as I shot multiple times at his arm before it finally fell off. It aimed it's remaining arm at my head and got ready to fire, as I kicked it in the face though it still tried to fire at me. I dodged it's attack and grabbed the arm I had shot off with it's blade and jabbed it into it's core where the Resurrection Power was giving it power. It didn't have time to defend itself as it started to glow purple now, as I ran away from it as fast as I could, while Helpy did the same. The endoskeletons nearby were smart enough to run away from the unit who was about to go critical, before finally the endoskeleton was consumed by a blast as parts of it's body flew everywhere. "Well, that works it seems. That's one down and nine left to go," said Duality. "Better odds for us," I said in response. Most of the endoskeletons were already getting back on their feet and brushing off what had just happened, ready to continue the fight immediately. Suddenly Foxy ran over to one of them and put up a Shadow Shield right as it noticed her and shot a laser at her, as she bashed it with her shield. The endoskeleton was knocked to the ground as I shot a Shadow Beam at its right arm, only another endoskeleton got in the way of the blast and blocked it, as it hit directly into the core where it was holding the Resurrection Power. The center of the endoskeleton began to show a purple light, though it wasn't as bright as the last one. That endoskeleton was a ticking time bomb and in a few moments it would most likely explode on its own, not unless someone disrupted it again. The one with its core of the power that would explode at any moment ran over to Foxy, knowing exactly what to do. "Foxy! Enter the Shadow Dimension now!" I yelled. One of the endoskeletons near the other one that was about to explode extended out his blade and went for the other endoskeleton power source. Foxy got ready to teleport as purple a explosion obscured our sight, with it throwing me and Helpy on the ground and along with the rest of the remaining endoskeletons. Parts of both endoskeletons went flying all over the place as I looked around to see if Foxy was nearby. Out of nowhere Foxy reappeared near one of the endoskeletons who were still on the ground, as she immediately punched the laser on its arm. I immediately entered the Shadow Dimension and ran on over to where she was before exiting the dimension, finding Foxy blocking a blade from the same endoskeleton she was trying to take down. I jumped up as high as I could and kicked its arm with it's blade, while Foxy shot a couple Shadow Beams at the chest. She entered the Shadow Dimension as quick as she could and was gone in an instant, as I quickly grabbed the endoskeleton, using the Resurrection Power to increase my strength as I managed to throw it at another endoskeleton that was nearby. As soon as I threw it at the other endoskeleton I quickly entered the Shadow Dimension as well to find Foxy waiting for me as well. "Thanks for the help," she said with a smile. "Just doing the usual," I responded with a smile. We both exited the dimension and found ourselves viewing the aftermath of the explosion, finding more parts of endoskeletons. "It seems you killed two birds with one stone with that stunt you did. Only five of them remain," said Duality. "Actually. I detect six signatures now. It's RXQ." "Wait, he's here?" asked Helpy walking over to us. I could sense his spirit nearby as I turned around now, finding him walking towards us down the street. The remaining endoskeletons got up now and held position as RXQ slowly walked towards us, as we waited for him to approach us. "This is the guy who's supposed to be on our side?" asked Helpy softly to me. "Yeah. Whatever you do act like he is still our enemy until he decides the time is right to join our side. Got it?" I said to him softly as well. "Easy enough," he responded. RXQ then started to run at us, prompting all three of us to get into our fighting positions and to await for him. As he approached us it was clear I was his target as he balled up his fist for a punch aimed at me, and leaped at me once he was close enough. I easily blocked his attack with a shield, though once that happened the rest of the endoskeletons aimed their lasers on the rest of us. "Everyone enter the Shadow Dimension!" commanded Duality. We all did as we were told by entering the Shadow Dimension, right when the endoskeletons were ready to fire. However RXQ followed us into the dimension as well, shooting a Shadow Beam at me. I easily dodged his attack as me and everyone else moved spots to focus on finishing of the rest of the endoskeletons, returning to the regular dimension. I managed to kick the nearest endoskeleton has it dodged my attack before shooting multiple lasers at me, as RXQ reappeared next to me. He immediately grabbed me and tried punching me in the face, as I moved my head and attempted to kick him in the stomach as he disappeared again and let go of me. "RXQ is not putting any effort into his attacks deliberately; he's making sure you're able to block or avoid his attacks. It would seem this confirms, for certain, that he does want to join our team," noted Duality. "I'd advise all three of you head to the rendezvous point to lure them away from the checkpoint. I also detect Mangle and Michael are approaching the rendezvous point as well, so they may be able to assist as." "Good thinking," I responded. "Everyone! Head for the rendezvous point!" "Got it!" responded Foxy as the three of us ran towards down the road to where we were all supposed to meet. The endoskeletons followed behind while shooting beams at us, as we did our best to block or avoid their attacks. Helpy shot a couple Shadow Beams back at them as they managed to avoid the attacks and continued to pursue us. "Time to change the odds. Duality activate the drone!" I commanded. "On it," he responded. RXQ appeared in front of us with a pair of daggers he had created using the Resurrection Power as he waited for us to approach his position. I went for him as I made a beeline for him, which he seemed to notice. I focused all my power in my fist as I jumped at him, as he blocked my attack with his arms. He tried slashing me with his daggers, though clearly not very well, of course, as I easily dodged his attack. RXQ turned to the sound of the drone flying behind the endoskeletons, which all of them noticed as well before the drone opened fire on them. The drone shot at two endoskeletons a couple times before directly hitting their chest where their power was, as they both began to be consumed by a purple light. The rest of the endoskeletons ran away from the two who were about to explode, barely escaping as the area was consumed by a purple burst of energy. Thankfully me and everyone else were untouched by the explosion, and unfortunately so were the remaining endoskeletons. "Three endoskeletons left. Not for long though," said Duality. RXQ went for another attack with his daggers as he tried stabbing me, as I blocked his attacks with a shield. I managed to kick his arms as I threw him off for a second before summoning my shield and raising it to smack him on the head with it. He entered the dimension once again before my attack was able to hit him, as I turned back to the battle behind me. One of the endoskeletons was focusing their fire on the drone as Foxy ran at him and managed to punch it in the face, before it's left arm got shot off by the drone. It aimed its remaining arm at Foxy to fire its laser, as she quickly grabbed his arm and held it up at the sky and caused him to shoot a couple shots at the sky. The drone shot its left leg, which caused it to cripple by breaking and causing it to fall on the ground on its remaining legs. Foxy managed to shoot a couple beams at its head before her attacks finally penetrated through its arm, falling over a second later to the ground deactivated. "Helpy! Let's take a page out of Freddy's book!" Foxy called over to him. "Can't argue with that!" he called back as he ran over to her, while the remaining endoskeletons shot at him. The drone turned to the both of them and fired at them, with all the used bullets falling to ground and littering the street among the parts scattered across. Foxy and Helpy grabbed the body of the endoskeleton that was just destroyed as they threw the body, with the Resurrection Power helping their strength, towards them. Foxy and Helpy ran back as the drone stopped firing and aimed at the body's chest, before finally shooting a couple bullets at it. I didn't even have time to take in another explosion, which was a sight to see, due to RXQ reappearing once again as he kicked me in the chest and caused me to fall on the ground. "Two endoskeletons remain. Our job is almost done," said Duality. "Your forces are almost beaten. Join us RXQ and we can stop William. It doesn't have to be this way," I said to him. "Ha! You think just asking me is just going to get me to join your side? How naive of you. You can't stop what is to come. You made a big mistake going up against William," responded RXQ. I could tell just by the way he was talking and the smile he had was really an act he was using to hide his true self, which I only noticed this time around since Michael informed me of him being against William. Suddenly the both of us looked down the street to the sound of fighting, as it was Mangle and Nightmare engaged with each other at the rendezvous point. I quickly got up as I entered the Shadow Dimension and ran down the street now, making sure RXQ was following me. "Have Helpy and Foxy finish off the remaining endoskeletons. I'll lead RXQ away," I said to Duality. RXQ reappeared right in front of me as I rolled to the side to avoid his slashes by his daggers. I ignored him and continued to run down the street, exiting the dimension and returning back to this worlds dimension. I was close to reaching the end of the street where Mangle was battling Nightmare, who seemed to be holding against her own. RXQ reappeared behind me as he chased after me with his daggers pointed at me, following me just like I thought he would. Nightmare and Mangle both noticed the both of us as I shot a couple Shadow Beams at Nightmare, who dodged to the side and evaded all of my attacks. Due to me distracting Nightmare I allowed Mangle to use what appeared to be a baton on Nightmare, blocking her attack as RXQ jumped up in the air and aimed to attack me from above with his daggers. I quickly jumped back as he landed on the ground and missed; it seemed he was making more of an effort to take me down now that someone like Nightmare was around. "How's your team doing?" I asked as RXQ got ready to attack me again. "Most of the endoskeletons are down and Michael is dealing with the rest of them. You?" she responded getting ready to defend herself from Nightmare. "Same deal with my team. Just preoccupied with RXQ," I responded. "Well. The mission doesn't change because of a small roadblock. May as well work together and ward off our advisories," she responded. "Can't argue with that," I responded. RXQ charged at me now with his blades pointed at me, as he attempted to strike me with them. I was able to block his attack with a Shadow Shield as Nightmare tried slashing Mangle, who managed to punch his face with her baton. He backed up to avoid her attack as RXQ disappeared, reappearing behind me a second later. I attempted to kick him, as he teleported again before he could attack and reappeared again jumping towards me as he shot a Shadow Beam at me. I entered the Shadow Dimension and returned once again before attempting to kick RXQ in the face, as he disappeared once again. Suddenly I turned to the sight of Michael from the right street charging towards me, Mangle, and Nightmare as he went for Nightmare with an axe made from the Resurrection Power. He attempted to hit Nightmare with his axe as Nightmare stepped back to evade his attack before guarding himself with his arms from Mangle's baton. I turned to the sound of fighting to the left street, as I could see Bonnie and Charlie fighting about three endoskeletons and Golden Freddy. RXQ reappeared as he seemed to notice Michael, who noticed him as well before I attempted to strike him with a punch. He quickly dodged the attack as Michael charged at him now with his axe and swung it at him, as RXQ blocked his attack with his daggers. Their weapons clashed with each other as RXQ tried striking Michael with his daggers, as Michael was able to dodge his attack with ease each time. I quickly focused my attention on Nightmare who was running at me with his mouth opened as I quickly tried to kick him in the face, as he managed to grab my leg before Mangle quickly got behind him and held his neck with her baton. I was able to kick him in the stomach and got him to let go of my leg, as I managed to punch him in the stomach a couple times before Nightmare managed to throw Mangle over him. Thankfully I jumped back and Mangle managed to land on her feet as she quickly turned around and blocked a kick from Nightmare with her Shadow Shield. Suddenly we all turned to the sound of the drone Duality was controlling with Helpy and Foxy running with it. "I'll have the drone assist Bonnie and Charlie," spoke Duality. "You two help them as well. The three of us here got this," I said to the both of them. "Fine with me!" exclaimed Helpy as he and Foxy ran past us and towards where Bonnie and Charlie were. Nightmare looked over at Foxy as he ran at her and tried to slash her, as Mangle quickly entered the Shadow Dimension. She reappeared between Foxy and Nightmare as she quickly tried hitting him with her baton to ward him off, in which she was successful as he was focused on her now. RXQ attempted to strike Mangle with his daggers, however she was ready for him as she blocked his attack with her baton. Michael then attempted to strike Nightmare behind him with his axe, as Nightmare quickly turned around and went to slash him. A piece of Michaels chin from his decaying suit was clawed off as it feel to the ground, though he seemed to dodge Nightmare's attack barely. I could hear the bullets being sprayed at the enemy where Foxy, Helpy, Charlie, and Bonnie were, meaning their battle would be soon over. I focused my attention back on the battle and went for Nightmare by jumping high at him and got ready to punch him, as he noticed me and opened his mouth to bite me. I shot a Shadow Beam at him, which caused him to evade the attack. This gave time for Mangle to swipe him and cause him to be off his balance, allowing me to punch him directly in the face. Mangle punched Nightmare with her fist as I did the same, giving him no time to defend himself before the both of us punched him in the face. He stumbled onto the ground as he looked at us, almost impressed at our effort. "It would seem the both of you do not fear the darkness that is the nightmare and what it represents. Perhaps that vigilance may strike even fear in William," spoke Nightmare as he slowly got up from the ground now. "We don't need fear to hurt him," said Mangle in response. All of us turned now to the sound of Charlie running over to us, with Golden Freddy behind and Foxy, Bonnie, Helpy, and the drone chasing after them. Charlie entered the Shadow Dimension, as well as Golden Freddy while Bonnie, Foxy, and Helpy ran over to us while shooting Shadow Beams at RXQ and Nightmare. Nightmare avoided the attacks by dodging them while RXQ disappeared to escape getting hit. Golden Freddy and Charlie reappeared a second later as Charlie attempted to punch Golden Freddy, though she blocked her attack with her arms. RXQ reappeared a moment later and tried to strike Mangle, as she attempted to strike him before she stopped and held her baton over RXQ. I noticed Golden Freddy and Nightmare had also stopped fighting and instead just stood where they were standing as Nightmare turned to look at me. "I commend your efforts on this frontal assault, though I warn you that you and your team are making a big mistake. It is one thing to challenge the nightmare, though it is another to tackle a war with an outcome already in sight. Enjoy your victory while it lasts," spoke Nightmare. He disappeared and entered the Shadow Dimension, followed by RXQ who did the same. Charlie stared at Golden Freddy for a moment, almost like she had something to say to her. Perhaps the person she once was, Cassidy, still lived. She disappeared as well finally, as we walked on over to each other. "Alright, report. If there's anything to report that isn't obvious," I stated. "Yeah, there's a whole lotta that," said Helpy. "The right checkpoint is cleared and all the endoskeletons have been dealt with," said Mangle. "We got attacked by Nightmare. Looks like the same happened with the rest of us with Golden Freddy and John," said Michael. "Yeah, Golden Freddy jumped in when we got half of the endoskeletons. No sign of your sister or Ennard. Or the rest of your father's minions," said Bonnie. "Hmm. It seems William sent in Nightmare, Golden Freddy, and RXQ to assist each checkpoint once their defenses dwindled. However they all retreated once all our teams reached our rendezvous point. They'll most likely bring in reinforcements. This was the easy part and I'm sure William will send out everything he has now," shared Mangle. "We should contact Bon Bon and start Phase Two. The enemy could be back at any minute now," said Michael. "Right. I'll do that," I responded activating my Communicator. 

"Bon Bon, this is Freddy. Do you read?" 

There was no response, as my worries started to form. 

"Bon Bon, this is Freddy. Are you there?"

Still no response as everyone looked at each other, showing concerns of their own now.

"Bon Bon answer now! This is Freddy! Respond!" 

Nothing. No response at all.

"The enemy may have engaged him. Perhaps that's where Ennard and my sister went," said Michael. "I also detect his Communicator is inactive. Most likely destroyed, and from what I can detect Ennard and Elizabeth are in the hideout with Bon Bon... It's not good," said Duality. "What do you mean?" I asked concerned. "I mean... Freddy. He's going to be killed... " responded Duality. "Everyone stay here I'll deal with them! Mangle have the team hold position until I return!" I called to them as I ran down the street. "Freddy!" called out Foxy as I didn't responded. I dare didn't stop as I ran as fast as I could down the street to reach the hideout, just thinking about what had happened. Whatever reason that caused him to end up in danger, even if it was because of his task or revenge against Elizabeth, I still had to save him. He was family and if I had the chance to save him I wouldn't dare to pass up on it. I needed to know what choice he made that lead up to this. I needed to know if he cared about the mission, this world, and his family, or if all he still cared about was his path of revenge to rectify the guilt and pain he would never get over. I needed his answer if this would be the end of him. If this was the moment he was waiting for. If so I had to be there to witness his moment and finally give him me regards for everything. He deserves that much.
