Ruby's POV

Yesterday I met a new friend and met the hot guy. Today I was bored and Lewis made me food already. I was thinking about seeing Ava and hanging out with her. Charles said he would give us a ride if we needed it. I told him that I would have to see first.

I walked next door and I rang the doorbell. A man stood in front of me who looked to be Ava's dad. "Hello" I said politely. "I am looking for Ava Sanders" I said as I looked up at him. "Hi, oh she will be down in a second" said their father. "Sorry this is my dad Ricco Sanders" said Ava as she stood on top of the stairs. "Let's go" said Ava as she walked down them.

I stood outside of the door waiting for her. She walked passed me. As she did I heard the loud motorcycle that Ernest drives coming down the driveway. He parked it and put down the kickstand. I took of his helmet. "We can have Charles drive us to the mall" I said. "Oh perfect" said Ava.

I looked back and I saw Ricco yelling at Ernest. Ava grabbed my hand and walked faster. Charles already brought the car around so we got in. We buckled in and I couldn't help but want to ask what was wrong. Charles drove us to the mall and we began to look around once we we're inside.

We we're walking around Dior looking at all the clothes. I wanted to ask about why Ricco was yelling at Ernest. I knew it wasn't my place but I still wanted to. Something didn't feel right about the situation. I know it's family business but I hate conflict. It's not right for me to know but it's a problem.

I am a peace maker so of course I want to fix it. "So what is something about you" said Ava as she kept looking at clothes. "I will move schools" I said thinking of something about me. "What school" asked Ava. "The one down the road" I answered. "Me and Ernest graduated from there last year" she said.

"How is it" I asked Ava. "Oh it's just full of rich kids who don't think they will work a day in their life" said Ava. "Really" I asked already nervous. My mom made me a transfer. I will go when my parents get back. "Yeah so you have to fit in" said Ava. "How" I asked not wanting to be a outsider.

"We'll bring food and dress to impress" said Ava. "Like what" I asked confused. "You wear uniforms so make yours stand out" said Ava. I looked at her unsure of how I can make a uniform look unique. "Second you only have short classes" said Ava. I nodded my head thinking that isn't too bad.

"Remember to dress like you own the school" said Ava as she gave me a unfazed look. "How" I said. "All black radiates confidence so just make it more black" said Ava with a smile. "Be a bougie bitch" said Ava as she kept looking at clothes. "Why" I asked you. "Teliah would have wanted you to be" said Ava.

"Do it for your grandmother Ruby" said Ava. I looked at the floor unsure. We never even met so how would she want me to be. I looked at Ava who grabbed her phone. She grabbed me and put her hand behind my back. "Me again" she said as she took a photo. She did a kissing pose well I smiled.

She posted the photo with the same caption she said. Ava was nothing like me but she was pretty fun to be around. "What are you doing now since you are out of high school" I asked Ava. "I am a model for women's underwear" said Ava as she finished posting the photo. I was shocked for a second.

"Really" I said. "Yeah" said a voice from behind me. I turned to find Ernest standing behind me. "You didn't did you" said Ava as she looked at her brother. "Not yet" said Ernest with a cocky smile. "Whatever" said Ava. "What's going on" I asked confused.

"Ernest doesn't want to work with our father just like our brother Dalvin" said Ava. "Why not" I asked. "I am not wanting to follow in my family's footsteps. "You copied mom because she is a model" said Ernest. "Yeah so" said Ava. "I don't want that" said Ernest. "You are black sheep of the family" said Ava.

"Thank god" said Ernest. "I don't see why that's a bad thing" I said. "Exactly" said Ernest. "Don't give him ideas" said Ava as she looked at me and then back to him. "Why not" said Ernest. "Because you don't need another reason to argue with dad" said Ava who looked pissed off.

"I just want to hear someone's opinion" said Ernest. "We'll she doesn't count" said Ava as she grabbed my arm. "You hardly know her or what she would say" said Ernest. "So what" aid Ava. I knew now that I don't want to be apart of this family conflict. "I am not saying okay" I said so that they don't keep arguing.

"Thank you" said Ava. I nodded my head unsure of what to do. "Look you frightened her" said Ernest. "She just doesn't want to pick sides" said Ava. I mean she wasn't wrong but still it's better then me saying something and one of them gets mad.

"Just come on" said Ernest. "Mom wants you home for dinner" said Ernest as he looked annoyed. "Fine just let me pay for these" said Ava as she grabbed a few clothes. She walked away and left us alone. I turned to Ernest who was looking at me. "You definitely aren't a Royle" said Ernest.

"Teliah would smack me upside the head if I even said about my job" said Ernest. "We'll I guess that's a good thing" I said. "It is" he said as he began to walk past me. "See ya" said Ernest as he followed Ava to the cashier. I couldn't help but find the Sanders a little bit more interesting. Maybe this was a good thing.
