Biblically speaking....Christian can be attack and affected by demons as we can see in Ephesians 6 talks about ' Armor of god ' and in 1 Peter 5:8 ," Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour."

1 John 5:18," We know that no children of God keep on sinning, for the Son of God keeps them safe, and the Evil One cannot harm them."
1 Peter 2:9," But you are the chosen race, the King's priests, the holy nation, God's own people, chosen to proclaim the wonderful acts of God, who called you out of darkness into his own marvelous light."
1 John 4:4," But you belong to God, my children, and have defeated the false prophets, because the Spirit who is in you is more powerful than the spirit in those who belong to the world."
Bible clearly telling us that one spirit is in us and other is not.
Yes, at time christian do need deliverance, but for true believer deliverance doesn't means exorcism where demon exhibit control over their physical condition. In Bible, it is described as demon possession or demonization and it is never used to describe for believers. So, Christians can be attack by demons but never possessed .
Now tere may be question raised that what is difference between deliverance and exorcism.
Well, exorcism is a form of deliverance but not all deliverance required exorcism. Deliverance simply means to bring into freedom. For example - someone being set free form tornament, bondage, stronghold, addition etc. Are deliverance, but when someone is set free specifically from possession it is called exorcism.
Only unbeliever can be possessed.
