DIRECTLY AFTER, YOU HURRIED INTO YOUR DORM WHILE STAYING SILENT AS TO NOT WAKE UP YOUR ROOMMATES AND QUICKLY OPENED UP YOUR BOOK.
you had found out the little creature was a niffler, known widely for their deep desire for shiny items.
after that, you had quickly gotten ready for bed and slept with the niffler huddled in your hair.
you then made sure to wake up bright and early, before the other girls so you had plenty of time to get ready and figure out what to do with the niffler.
so after having a quick shower, getting into your robes, and tying your hair into three thick plaits, you turn to the niffler who was scavenging through your drawers for anything shiny.
you pull him away, sitting on your bed and holding him up.
he looks at you with his beady eyes and you put your close facer to his.
"now, what am i gonna do with you?" you mutter, rubbing your finger along his head.
you purse your lips, thinking to yourself.
hm, hagrid is good with magical creatures.. i could ask him what to do. but if i do, he'll have to take him away..
you frown slightly, wanting to keep the cute little niffler.
you sigh, "you can stay with me. but you have to promise to not get yourself caught"
you raise your eyebrows at the niffler, who just stares back at you.
you take his tiny hand in your own, shaking it slightly with a smile.
"i'm gonna name you... duck!"
you nod to yourself, finding that the little niffler suits that name. sure, it was an odd name, but who cares?
you flinch slightly as you see the other two start to stir, quickly kissing duck on the top of the head before putting him gently in your breast pocket.
"stay quiet and hidden, okay?" you whisper, holding a finger up.
"mm, who are you talking to?" susan asks sleepily, you jump up off your bed.
"no one!"
hannah yawns, "dear merlin, why are you up so early?"
you shrug, "couldn't sleep, i guess"
they both just nod, slowly and drowsily sitting up.
"you were with harry potter when he did all that cool flying, weren't you?" susan smiles and looks at you.
you nod, beaming.
"oh, yes! he was so cool!"
they both turn to you, doing little bits of getting ready.
"what'd he do? i heard little bits, but it'd be good to hear from someone who was there" hannah says.
you grin widely.
"it was so awesome! draco, a boy in our year, he's in slytherin, and he's pretty mean, took neville, a boy in our year's remembrall! he's also in gryffindor and he's really sweet!"
they both sweat-drop at your rambling.
"anyways, draco flew up with it on his broom, even though madam hooch told everyone specifically not to fly their brooms! and then harry got angry and he followed after him into the sky with his broom! and they were both flying around, going like woosh! and pow! and weeee! and i was like woahh! ooohh! ahhh!" you babble on happily, the two girls staring at you with a slight deadpan expression.
you finally finish 'explaining', the two girls breathing out in relief.
hannah nods largely, "right.."
