"But what if,
somewhere between
letting go and
holding on,
we found the courage
to love again."

Taraa's POV

My head was killing me.

The whole night I had slept badly, given the countless thoughts in my head. When the sun rose and shone on my face, I felt as if the throbbing pain would kill me for sure. My eyelids felt heavy, given all the crying I had done last night. Moreover, I was feeling extraordinarily cold, even though the weather was not like that.

I got up somehow, and headed towards the bathroom. I tried to open it but found it locked instead. My knees felt so weak that I sat beside the door, leaning against the wall, and closed my eyes.

"Why are you sitting here?" I opened my eyes when I heard Jungkook say.

I got up and tried to balance myself, but failed miserably. Had he not caught me immediately, I would have fallen headfirst onto the floor.

"Oh my God! You are burning!" he exclaimed, and was now holding me firmly with his one arm around my waist. "You need to use the washroom?" he asked. I nodded weakly.

"Go on then. I am waiting here." he said. I went inside the bathroom and somehow managed to freshen up. Upon exiting, I found Jungkook pacing around in the hall. As soon as he saw me, he took a few long strides to reach me.

"You are not planning to go to office, right?" he asked.

"No." I let out. I knew I would be unable to reach office in one piece in this condition.

"Good." he said. "You need to rest."

Without any warning, he picked me up bridal style and headed towards my room, making me lie on the bed. He draped a blanket over me, given that I was shivering.

"I will prepare something to eat. After that, you need to take the medicines." he said, and giving me a concerned glance, left the room. After dropping an application of leave to my manager and receiving approval in return, I closed my eyes.

I heard a soft voice waking me up, with familiar, warm hands running fingers through my hair. I opened my eyes to see Jungkook sitting beside the bed on a chair.

I didn't protest.

"What is it?" I asked, tilting my head sideways to point at the bowl kept on the bedside table.

"Porridge." he answered. I made a face, making him chuckle. "You need to eat this to gain energy. Now, now, get up."

I did as he said and straightened my back against the headboard. He picked up the bowl and started to feed me.

"I can do-"

"Sshh." he shushed me simply, and almost shoved the spoon in my mouth.

Again, I didn't protest.

After taking the medicine, when I layed down on the bed again, I saw Jungkook coming with a bowl and towel on a tray.

He took his previous seat, and soaking the towel in the water, placed it on my forehead. I was about to stop him, but the cool sensation felt so soothing that my protest turned into a moan, which thankfully, I succeeded in suppressing.
