Annabeth's POV
I was running.
From the cyclops. I was seven again, my legs moving as fast as possible to run away from the big brute. I was alone. No Thaila or Luke. Just me.
Think. Think Annabeth.
I saw that the street split into two. I took a deep breath and ran into one, not looking at if it was a dead end.
Oops.
The cyclops cornered me at the end. My hand shook. I didn't know if I could kilp this with a hammer.
Think.
"Annabeth."
I flinched. My dad's voice.
"We miss you. Come back home."
my head went blank.
he missed me.
The cyclops smiled.
No.
I shook my head.
And ran.
It was reckless.
And stupid.
The cyclops grabbed me. It lifted me up in the air. It was terrifing.
I screamed for help.
~
I woke up sweating.
And to see a pair of eyes.
Omega.
"Annabeth-"
his eyes were sea green.
I screamed.
I didn't know why.
It just spooked me. His eyes were exactly like Percy's.
Lights turned on. Arms pulled Omega off my bed, and angry words were said. I was frozen. Omega was pulled out. The door slammed shut. Malcom sat next to me.
"What did he do? What was he doing? Did he-"
"His eyes." I whispered.
"What?"
"His eyes were green." I sobbed. "Sea green."
Malcom's eyes softened.
"It's just a dream Annabeth." he said, wrapping his arms around me. "Don't worry."
"Sea green." I sobbed.
Malcom sighed and patted my back.
"Go to sleep now." he said, pulling away. "It's 3 in the morning."
I nodded numbly and hugged my blankets tighter.
~
I was staring at the empty Chaos table.
Nobody used it really but Omega. It felt odd to see the table empty. I wanted to ask him a few things.
I stood up and threw the rest of my breakfast in the fire.
I needed to see Omega.
I went to his rickety old cabin. It seemed slightly tilted and buried in the sand. I knocked on the door.
I knocked on the door again.
No reply.
"Omega?"
Maybe he wasn't awake. I heard shuffling and the door opened.
Pain. I was suprises at how much pain radiated from him. His eyes showed so much pain.
