"Where was it stolen from?"

"My dorm."

"So the Heir of Slytherin is a Gryffindor, how ironic."

Harry gave a weak smile, he looked worried.

"What are you worried about?" Delilah inquired.

Harry looked away. "It's just that since I've had the diary, no one's been attacked, but now that it's gone again..."

"Harry, it's not your fault, someone just stole it, and now we know what house they are in, so let's head down to the field so you can beat the Hufflepuffs."

Normally Delilah didn't take a side in Quidditch, but that was what Harry had needed to hear.

He grinned. "Of course, come on, I need to go get my Quidditch stuff though, you can come along. Ron and Hermione are waiting outside."

They left the Great Hall together. They just set foot on the marble staircase when Delilah heard it yet again —

"Kill this time... let me rip... tear..."

Delilah looked up as Harry shouted aloud. Ron and Hermione jumped away but Delilah looked at Harry.

"You hear it too?"

He nodded and Hermione gasped and clapped a hand to her forehead.

"I think I've just understood something! I've got to go to the library!"

And she sprinted away, up the stairs.

"What does she understand?" Harry asked distractedly, still looking for where the voice had come from.

"Loads more than I do," said Ron, shaking his head.

"But why's she got to go to the library?"

"Because that's what she does," Delilah answered.

Ron nodded.

"When in doubt, go to the library," he added.

Harry hurried to get his broom while Ron and Delilah headed to the Quidditch pitch to get good seats.

Delilah looked around, planning to sit by Ginny, but she couldn't find her. Confused, she sat by Ron. She could go to the Slytherins, but she didn't want to deal with them being rude about the Gryffindor team.

After a few minutes, the teams walked onto the field to tumultuous applause. The Gryffindor captain, Wood, took off for a warm-up flight around the goalposts; Madam Hooch released the balls. The Hufflepuffs, who played in canary yellow, were standing in a huddle, having a last-minute discussion of tactics.

Everyone was just mounting their brooms when Professor McGonagall came half marching, half running across the pitch, carrying an enormous purple megaphone.

"This match has been canceled," she called through the megaphone, addressing the packed stadium. There were boos and shouts. Oliver Wood, looking devastated, landed and ran towards Professor McGonagall.

He shouted something Delilah couldn't hear, but McGonagall ignored him and continued to shout through her megaphone:

"All students are to make their way back to the House common rooms, where their Heads of Houses will give them further information. As quickly as you can, please!"

Then she lowered the megaphone and beckoned Harry towards her. Ron and Delilah hurried over towards them.

To Delilah's annoyance, Professor McGonagall didn't object to Ron, but only to Delilah.
