in which chris breaks up with you, but you never left.

so basically this chapter is gonna be based off of the taylor swift song "right where you left me" which is my second favorite song in her whole discography. anyways enjoy
___
friends break up
friends get married

you sit there at the restaurant booth, laughing at the boy across from you.

strangers get born
strangers get buried

he checks his phone and smiles. "uh- i'm gonna go to the bathroom. be right back."

trends change
rumors fly through new skies but
i'm right where you left me.

20 minutes pass and there's no sign of him. you assume that it's just the bad fish that he ordered, so you texted him.

matches burn after the other
pages turn and stick to eachother

no response.

wages earned and lessons learned
but i'm right where you left me

45 minutes. the waitress came around 3 times, but you told her it would only be a minute until he would come back.

help
i'm still at the restaurant

1 hour.

still sitting in the corner i haunt
cross legged in the dim light

you leave.

they say 'what a sad sight'
i swear you could hear a hairpin drop

you call him. no response.

right when i felt the moment stop

3 weeks pass.

glass shattered on the white cloth

"you have to move on." they'd say.

everybody moved on i
i stayed there

but you couldn't. you couldn't forget the way he'd made you laugh. you couldn't forget the way he'd go out of his way to make you comfortable. you couldn't forget the way he'd say that he loved you.

dust collected on my pinned up hair
they expected me to find somewhere

2 months later.
you went back to the restaurant and sat in the same spot he left you in.

some perspective but i sat and stared
right where you left me

you didn't order. you didn't look at anyone. you just sat and remembered everything.

you left me no
oh, you left me no
you left me no choice but to stay here forever

but for some reason,
you can't bring yourself to leave.

you left me no
oh, you left me no
you left me no choice but to stay here forever

you text him again.
no response.

did you ever hear about the girl who got frozen
time went on for everybody else
she won't know it

they tell you to move on. but in your mind, you're still a naive child sitting in the restaurant thinking that he would never leave you.

she's still 23
inside her fantasy
how it was supposed to be

you sit there, smoothing out your best dress.
he loved this color on you.

did you hear about the girl who lives in delusion

you thought you saw him in the window.

breakups happen everyday you don't have to lose it

it wasn't him.

she's still 23 inside her fantasy
and you're sitting in front of me
at the restaurant

suddenly, you're back to laughing at the boy across the table.

when i was still the one you want
cross legged in the dim light

you reach over and grab his hand, giving him a bright smile.

everything was just right, i

nothing could go wrong.

i could feel the mascara run

you're back alone at the table.
your phone beeps.

you told me that you met someone

"i met someone." your phone reads.

glass shattered on the white cloth
everybody moved on

you stare at the message. 2 years late.

help
i'm still at the restaurant
still sitting in the corner i haunt

you try to leave your seat, but your body is frozen in place.

cross legged in the dim light
they say 'what a sad sight' i
i stayed there

you rip up a small piece of the bread at the table.

dust collected on my pinned up hair

the waitress comes by to tell you the restaurant is closed. you leave.

i'm sure that you got a wife out there
kids and christmas but i'm unaware

you open facebook. you see a new post of him and another girl with "save the date" written in a way-too-extra font at the top.

cause i'm right where
i cause no harm
mind my buisness
if our love died young

you close your phone.

i can't bear witness
and it's been so long
but if you ever think you got it wrong

you lay on your bed, tears flowing down your face.

i'm right where
you left me
you left me no
oh you left me no
you left me no choice but to stay here forever

next day, you go back.
you sit in your normal seat.

you left me
you left me no
oh you left me no
you left me no choice but to stay here forever.

you look at all the people passing by.

and you wonder if you'll ever be okay again.
___
a/n- this was entirely a vent post and it was entirely too dramatic

in case you don't understand here's a rundown.

you and chris were on a date, when he got a text from another woman and left you there. you stayed, thinking that he would come back. you go to the restaurant almost every day for two whole years, expecting chris to come back. eventually, you see that he's about to get married to the woman he left you for. you go back to the restaurant and wonder if you'll ever get over him like everyone is telling you to.

anyways i just decided to post this because why not. i'll probably delete this later unless for some reason people decide they love it.
